I ordered this toy for my 1 year old but my 6 year old has been playing with it the most. She really likes the music sheets that come with it and wants to master the songs. The stick is silicone so it shouldn't hurt too much if baby accidentally hits themself. The tambourine is removable which is a nice touch as it makes it seem likes it 2 toys in 1. I like all the different modes on the toy itself as it can really help keep baby entertained for awhile. Even on the loudest setting, the toy isn't very loud. I actually wouldn't mind if it was a bit louder as any background noise almost completely drowns out the toy. This is your typical Leap Frog toy that makes learning fun and easy. It is small enough that you can travel with it too and with the low sound it should be perfect for carrying around in stores or restaurants. LeapFrog is a go to brand when it comes to toys for my nephew. This 2-1 toy combines a xylophone and a tambourine. Both instruments can be played together and the tambourine can be separated to play individually. The toy also comes with two double sided music cards that your child can play along to. I love how the keys on the xylophone light up and allow my nephew to follow long to the tunes. They also help him learn about colors and numbers. The only thing I don’t like about the toy is how only 4 songs are included on the music cards, when there are 8 songs programmed into the toy. A great way to get your kid into music, this is a pretty classically styled xylophone that is fun for kids of all ages. The sounds are nice and musical, and sound great for a toy. The xylophone is also nice and bright and colorful. It's also very durable and can be thrown around a bit. Feels like it would stand up to a drop from almost any height. I grabbed this for my daughter, and she loves it. I'll be honest in that she's still too young to fully understand what she is supposed to be doing with it, but, she still seems to love tapping the individual bars and making them light up and unleashing their corresponding tones. I have no doubt that as she grows, she'll begin the understand playing the individual songs and follow along to the music. Happy to recommend this. It's a lot less noisy than an analog xylophone, and should have no problem keeping your child entertained. ... show more
