These are high-quality wooden toys that appear to be hand-painted. The animals are super cute and it's fun for children and adults alike to try to stack them on one another. Our 9-month old loves playing with them while he stands next to our coffee table, and we use them as an opportunity to teach him about the names of forest animals and the sounds they make. He gets a lot of joy out of playing with them, even if he mostly bangs them on the table or throws them at this point. If you're looking for a high-quality wooden toy (and find electronic/cheap plastic toys abhorrent), you can't go wrong with this set.     • Cute, but a word of caution:
This is a super cute set of blocks for older toddlers (age 2.5 and up). The smaller pieces definitely pose a choking hazard for younger kiddos. So, if you have a little one who loves to put things in his or her mouth please find something else to give them.

This toy has been great because both my 15 month old girl and my 2.5yr old boy can play with it - and play with it / share together. It's also compact and was great to bring along with us on a recent trip. They seem to gravitate towards it over and over and do actually try to stack the toys, as well as pretend play (and teether for little one!). This stacking toy is great! I really wanted some wooden animals for my toddler, but most are really expensive or not very cute in my opinion. These come in a little drawstring bag and feel good quality. I like the colors and my toddler can stack them pretty well already. He loves the turtle best! Great open ended toy, can be used to stack as advertised, in itself is a very entertaining task, even for mom & dad :) Also played with as animal characters. They go for rides in trucks, hide in caves, and so on. We’ve also practiced naming animals. I’ve taken pictures with their Tender Leaf stacking friends so you might compare. Both stack with each other perfectly. Love the conspicuous eyes, as if to say, ”what are you doing? Are you sure you want to stack that there?” ... show more

We ordered these stacking animals for our grandson. They are just the right size for a 5 month old to grab and hold. Gramps loves them too! And not an ounce of plastic in the package anywhere. The wooden animals arrived in a cloth bag, the bag was wrapped in paper inside a shipping carton. Bravo.

These are perfect. I bought them for my 1.5 year old and I love that they can be used in lots of ways. He can stack them or use them for imaginative play. They are a good weight, no sharp edges, and paint doesn't chip off and seems really high quality. I love these sweet little animals.
