Most of my life I live by the slogan, you get what you pay for. I have to say the packaging is very nice & sleek. Nice instruction manual and the box has a compartment for 4 discs & a remote. So if you want to travel with it, it’s very convenient. I was going to purchase a nebula projector which are cool but it just looks like a colorful ocean that cost around $50-$60. But for $120 The LaView projector are actual photos taken by nasa telescopes copied onto small discs. That’s what I wanted something that is really out there in the cosmos. The projector comes with 4 separate disc. 2 of them I love and 2 I never use. You can see why in the photos. The moon & earth are just not clear. I know there’s projectors out there that cost over 600. The big difference with those has to be the clarity of it. The LaView has a clear picture in the center of the whole projection but when you get to the rim of the photo they get blurry. I do want to purchase other disc in the future to rotate photos but I see reviews say there just as blurry as well. It’s not a deal breaker and still projects a lovely scenery that is soothing to look at. Definitely gives a cozy vibe. If this thing could shine during the day and when the tv is on I would keep it on all day. It’s like having art on your ceiling. But in order to get the best picture it has to be pitch black in the room. Even if the tv is on it takes away from the view. Yes I wish it was just a tad bit more clearer but I do not regret purchasing this. I love it and I do recommend this to everyone. I think everyone should have this. Kids, adults all across the board. It also doesn’t project a ton of light. Which is a major plus. Other projectors give off too much light, not really ideal when your trying to sleep. It’s also extremely silent. You can only hear it when you put your ear next to it. Besides that you don’t hear a thing. I would give it 5 stars but because of the photos being blurry I have to deduct one. Overall if your on the fence, just get it. The one thing left to figure out is the test of time. And I will like to see how other projectors in this price range compete. ... show more

For how expensive it is (came with 4 slides and others are purchased separately for half the price of the starter kit), the slides are somewhat blurry. We've tried all 4 slides and gone through all the settings, moving the projector to different locations, closer and farther away, etc. No matter what, the pictures aren't 100% clear. At best, we can get about 85% clear in a perfectly dark room. If there is any hint of light, of course the quality goes down. ... show more

We turn on the "stars" for our little one every evening and it's a pretty magical experience. The nighttime routine of turning down the lights, together with a little mood music, provides a nice family bonding time on the transition from play to sleep. And unlike many toys, I can see us using this for many years to come. We bought 4 picture discs (moon, eagle nebula, milky way, and earth) but the images are just ok. The Eagle Nebula is probably the best one for the colors. Instead we mostly use the laser mode which is fantastic. The star field it produces has a varying pattern of dim vs bright stars that gives the illusion of a non-homogenous background. Add a little rotation and it's just relaxing to stare at. My only (minor) concerns so far have been the lack of focus and the weak remote control. Laser mode is very wide. If you place the project anywhere below shoulder height, you will get lasers in your face/eyes. We all lay on the floor and turn the projector on/off from there, but it's not super convenient. And since the remote control has to be pointed exactly at the receiver window on the projector, it requires shuffling around a bit to get the "stars" on/off. Bought for our space loving son, he loves it. It is the best quality of picture we’ve seen (because it’s essentially a projection) The pros are the quality of picture, the rotation option helps him to sleep, green lights have a dimmer, picture focus and timer. Cons are the plug sticks straight out the side so if it gets knocked over, it falls onto the plug that goes into the machine and I’m worried it will eventually break completely leaving it useless, for $90+, I’d think they could prevent this by placing the plug in the back. The choices of picture are only 3, you pay more for other choices, I feel for the price, it should come with more options. The base is narrow so it tips over on carpet easily. The cord is short that comes with it, it’s generic so can be swapped easily though. The picture focus is shaky so if you get it focused, it will vibrate itself out of focus easily. ... show more

When properly adjusted, the northern hemisphere disc is great - installed it in my kids room to talk about astronomy and show him some of the things I try to take pictures of during those rare cloud-free nights. Overall, the value is great, it's surprisingly bright and sharp corner to corner when wiggling the lens 'just right'. The lens thread doesn't engage too tightly with the threads in the body of the projector, so there is more wiggle room than I'd like, but it's possible that the manufacturing tolerances are bad enough that they can't get away with a tighter fit. In either case, I wasn't sure if this would just be a crappy toy, but instead I kind of want one for my office now... The other discs are pretty cheesy and the imaging quality isn't as good as the northern hemisphere one - I suspect they are produced differently, as the NH one is a metallic 'mask', whereas the other discs look more like slide film. ... show more

This projector is great for night time in place of dim lighting to enhance a room. I like to place it on the ceiling as pictures with the galaxy or solar system (sold separately) disc and hit the rotation. The extra discs are a little pricey and wish it stored them in the projector otherwise fantastic. The wife’s favorite is the Nebula disc which is pictured too. ... show more

Update: I recalibrated what I want from this and how I use this. The phenomenal customer service team went above and beyond. I was coming from using another projector with more light in the room, like when the TV is on that is not the purpose of this. If you turn all the lights completely off, this thing really does have its place. I would love for it to be a little bit better at focusing on all sides of the ceiling, but when ordering a replacement I had two of them at once and put the same one and different combinations of images on the ceiling and I actually really started to fall in love with it. Now I’m keeping both lol 🤦♂️ Mixing high def stars with the other ones make some cool combinations and making both rotate does cool stuff as well with half focused and half not it gives 3D effect. I really wanted to like this. There are a lot of things that I do compared to the cheaper one that I have. The ability for it to point straight up and rotate in any direction is great. The ability to change scenes is also great because he can always have something new as they come out with them but the brightness requires complete darkness, any other light at all, like LEDs in the room, makes it almost impossible to see. That sucks but that’s doable, why is she was when I put the earth and Star seen on the ceiling, I could not get the focus to get Chris for what was being described at 6K. I could get reasonably clear if I was holding it really close to a wall but from a dresser Do the ceiling I could not get the focus to Dial in. And the focus itself seems loose so I don’t know if I have a defective system or if that’s the way it is but I can turn it all the way left and right and see the focus adjusting it just won’t quite get there. I don’t know if it’s the scene. Maybe if I had other scenes they might look better, I don’t know but it’s hard to want to invest in more when you’re not quite happy. Might return. ... show more
