If you are heavier than 120 lbs I suggest you get one thicker than 6 inches, but otherwise it was confy enough the first time I slept on it. But not expanded to a full 6 inches despite it has been several days - only 5 inches. I have several arthritis types, but this was confortable for the most part. Will work best as a topper for a springy mattress unless you prefer a solid non shock absorbing mattress I also bought a spring mattress to put this on and it arrived today, so I plan on a great night sleep. ... show more

The only reason for the 4's is that we can still fill the metal frame underneath the mattress, which would not be an issue in a regular couch bed. It’s meant for the pullout couch but when I attempted to sleep on this it was so thin I felt the bars of the couch. I’m not a big guy so I shouldn’t sank in that bad. When I was finally able to sleep I had a nightmare due to being so uncomfortable and woke up with a bad back and next cramp. I was angry for the rest of the day.
