If you get this coffee and have a decent espresso machine ***, make yourself an Americano. It will be the best coffee you ever had at about a quarter [or less] a cup. Absolutely love this coffee. It's wonderful for espresso or cappuccino and works very well in a coffee maker with a built-in grinder - namely because these beans are considerably less oily than many others I've tried. I've committed to this particular brand and roast because of this lack of oiliness which has reduced the number of issues the built-in grinders seem to experience whenever there is leftover oiliness/residue. Flavor-wise, this is on par with other brands with which I am fond - Starbucks (Pike Place roast) being one of the strongest contenders. Let me start off by saying we like or coffee strong. I know that it has a lot of great reviews, but I think this coffee was not as good as I was hoping it would be. We wanted a strong espresso with a lot of crema. In the end I just use it for regular cup of coffee (decent) but would not recommend this if you like strong espresso. The amount of crema definitely depends on they type\size of how you grind the coffee. I honestly did not pay attention that this was a bag of whole beans and had to buy a special grinder just to use the coffee beans for espresso. ... show more

I made my first serving of Lavazza Crema this afternoon with the pour-over and enjoyed a 20-ounce cup of coffee mixed with milk and liquid Stevia. The Crema is medium roast, has a rich, slightly caramel sweet flavor, and minimum bitterness. I also like that it isn't too acidic for coffee. These are really smooth, not too bold, but very flavorful. I use these in my expresso machine for ice coffee and blend them with a cinnabon coffee creamer. It definitely has a coffee house taste.
