When this scanner arrived, I was surprised how heavy the whole package was. The blow molded case is the size of a small suitcase. Inside there is so many accessory connectors I didn't even bother to count them. It looks like you can service the whole world with all of them. The scanner itself is a very high quality Lenovo tablet housed in a very tough rubber case. I installed a 128 gig micro sd even before the first bootup. Then upon boot the tablet recognizes the SD and formats it and your off to the races. Once everything was downloaded it used about 1/2 that sd card. That rubber case holds the tablet very tightly, and it takes a bit of strong hands to remove it. The program allows you to delete vehicles you don't want to save space if you like. I really didn't know there was that many vehicles in the world. It even covers tractors and other machines. The program itself is very easy to use. It auto-detects the VIN, or you can photo it or enter it manually. Very nice. In operation, it is powerful but also has a user friendly interface. This is a great scanner and I don't feel the need for any other. An added bonus is they give you a free Cread code reader as well. All in all a good value and a powerful scanner. Im so excited to share my launch x431 v+. I must say its a big step from my launch mini. The setting up was so easy and connecting to my first vehicle was a breeze. Let me make this clear for all fellow users this does both car/domestic and imports. It also does light trucks and heavy duty trucks. This was my main concern recently but i have cleared this up myself. Im looking into adding the videoscope and immo options also. This system is awesome. Thank you again. ... show more

I bought this to supplement the Autel Maxisys scanner that I already have. It's a good idea to have a couple of different scanners, because invariably one will do something the other can't. I have to say that this one is sometimes easier to use and the battery lasts for quite a while. However, the Autel scanner is superior in most instances. I've been working on a few NPR/WT trucks for a while, and they are always somewhat hard to get into without factory level scan tools. This particular truck had an ABS light on the dash, and I tried several other scan tools to help me diagnose the cause. Neither my Autel ULTRA, TOPDON, ThinkCar S10 or even my CanDo HD Pro would get into this module to tell me what was going on. Jumping the ABS pins on the DLC gave me code 33. Looking up codes for this module on ProDemand, AllData and Identifix showed nothing, and googling it, I found that code 33 could indicate a bad Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor issue. I used my oscilloscope on the Autel ULTRA and scoped all four wheel speed sensors. They all tested good at the wheels. So I then tested the same signal at the ABS module, and they all tested the same there as well. Hmm.. I was told that the Launch X431 Pro could also do heavy duty vehicles, so at the price, it looked like another good tool to have in the arsenal. Not every scan tool is good at every make, and this proves my point. I connected the X431Pro to the truck, and with little drama, it confirmed what I had assumed at this point. The ABS module and pump on this truck has failed. I further confirmed that all power and grounds were good at the module, and that the communication between the ABS module and ECM were functioning properly. On a truck of this vintage, especially in the rust belt, you don't want to have to try to remove brake lines if you don't have to. In this case, I will still have to, but now I can feel confident that my other diagnostics proved out my other testing and sure enough, a new ABS Pump/Module solved the issue. Thank you Launch for making a great tool that can do Automotive and HD truck diagnostics, at a fraction of the price others are charging for the same capability. I will keep my eye on new Launch tools, and if you are on the fence, I say go for it! ... show more

This is a beast! I have a couple Autel Scantools and some OEM tooling (Chrysler/Jeep and VW). This has become my "first grab" at attacking any problem. In fact...it has earned a permanent place on my roll cart. So far it has handled everything I have thrown at it (from 2016 Audi A3 to 2019 Ram 3500). 1998 Jeep TJ and 2002 Liberty among others. I have noticed no gaps in coverage yet! I have used Audi guided functions to reset adaptations on an entire climate control system. Several resets and service functions on numerous vehicles. . It also comes with several OBDI connectors. I am anxious to try some OBDI Jeep diagnostics. I know there are different opinions on the "Global" tools but I could not be happier with this tool, using it in the USA. This IS from the Launch Tech official factory. It is NOT a knock-off. After I have used the tool a while I intend to do a video review to directly address some 'opinions' on the global tools. I was a bit nervous about it initially, but I would 100% buy this tool again! I am so glad I took some other video reviews with a grain of salt and did my own research. Note: I did not rate tech-support above because I have not needed it, so I haven't used it. I did notice a few active tests did not function, otherwise the tool has been great for the amount of time I have had it. It is a very good value for the price, it is not a full fleged professional tool, but it is good for the heavy DIY application for someone who understands how to use the tool properly. ... show more

    • Expensive and useless without bluetooth connector
I will advise , do not buy this product, customer service is terrible and replacement parts are very expensive. The scanner will not work without bluetooth connector so if it gets broken all you have is an ipad.
