    • Fantastic. This worked for my DEF Issue.

I bought this specifically for the DEF Quality error on a 2018 range rover sport. The error itself "No engine restarts in 246 miles Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid Quality detected" The dealer wanted ~$16,600 including tax to essentially replace the entire emissions and exhaust system. They are a local chain and the only Range Rover dealer in this area. I learned that DEF fluid has about a two year shelf life and can degrade quickly if stored above 95F. I added fresh DEF fluid. The error code did not reset automatically. I was able to reset the code by running the service that I had replaced the DEF fluid quality sensor. That fixed the issue. It has not come back. The device itself is decent quality, not too big not too small. It has wifi for updates and a touch screen. This is still a great device even if it isn't iphone quality. What is important and what it has is the right software to fix the issues, and in my case it was exactly what I needed and a saved me a ton of money. ... show more

This is literally what happened when I attempted to use my "ELITE" scanner the second time since I purchased it back in 2022. Don’t get me wrong, the first and only time I used it I was amazed but as you can see, those feelings not so much the second time around. I finally figured out that the poor quality and cheap pin connector (yellow) that plugs into the cars OBD2 is the culprit. My $13 scanner I purchased at AutoZone has a better quality l OBD2 connector then this joke. I work at a car dealership and all of the scanners I've seen have a hard plastic for the connectors, this yellow connector is a complete joke. I figured out that if I play around with the pins that I can get it to work BUT that is only after plugging and unplugging this $200 P.O.S in and out over a hundred times. Before you ask, it is not my OBD2 connector in the car because I've tried 8 different scan tools plus attempted to plug it into two other BMW's and this is the only scanner that does this. Here is my process to use the scanner: Plug in and get white screen of death, unplug it and push pins inward and then pinch the cheap plastic yellow connector while waiting for scanner to shut back down and then restart that process over and over and over and over again until the little car finally pops up on the screen. Unless you have time to waste, I would save yourself the headache and frustration and buy a better product with a better quality OBD2 plug. Oh and BTW, the support team for Launch is an absolute joke. They wanted pics so I provided pics. Then they asked if I would like them to send out a replacement scanner which I was all for but it's over 9 months later and I still have NOT received the replacement scanner. When I notify Launch they say I need to notify Amazon and when I notify Amazon they say I need to reach out to Launch, it's an absolute JOKE. Needless to say what I have here is an extremely expensive orange paperweight, I mean unless I want to spend an hour or so trying to get it to start up properly so I can use it. ... show more

I had originally bought this item to program a couple of keys but when I had explored all of the features it let me find things that my other scanners missed. I am pleased with this and plan on buying one for each of the other makes of vehicle that I have. The fit and finish of the scanner is great and it being on an android platform made it easy to navigate. I did have an issue finding the security page but a couple of YouTube videos later and my keys work great and I now know what direction to go on restoration of this project. ... show more

Yes, the average BMW owner will find this does almost everything they will need, including things a dealer typically does. Bidirectional diagnostics, customize to some extent most modules, and so on. So what does it not due causing me to give it only 4 stars? While it shows the Vehicle Order (VO), I see no way to modify it. Sure, the average owner would never need to or even want to modify the VO. But I modify my own and friend's BMWs for racing and one key step is to install racing seats. This requires me to modify the VO to disable the airbags from the side/rear of the stock seats, disable the seatbelt warnings and more. Other significant modifications also require changing the VO. I see no way to do this with this device. If someone corrects me, I will change this review to 5 starts. The Android phone/tablet based "ProTools" app and dongle let me change the VO, but I prefer a standalone plug in device which doesn't need a dongle or tablet; hence I bought this. ... show more
