    • A nice DIY scanner
This is going to have almost everything you'll need as a DIY mechanic. You can use it in a professional setting but eventually you'll run into it's limitations. It's easy to read and use, it's quick to scan, touch screen, and many many features. It's limited to 4 systems but for the everyday DIY person, that's almost always going to be enough. I'm not going to list all the things this can do, you can simply read the listing page, but after having this for nearly two months, I can say with confidence this should work well for any DIY mechanic at home. I do a lot of mechanical work as a hobby, I help friends and family with their car issues, and I will often buy project vehicles which often need to be diagnosed using a scanner. Overall, I have been very happy with it. It's held up nicely in the garage, getting dropped a couple times, and it's done everything I need it to do and then some. No complaints. It's not perfect, obviously, and it is limited in functions but they don't try to hide that fact from you. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This CRP123I V2.0 Scan Tool by LAUNCH, is a great diagnostic tool, that can do so many helpful things, it has its strengths and also its weaknesses. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Quality – It looks and feels like a solidly built tool, out of good materials. The 5 inch LED screen is bright and responsive to the touch. The hard plastic and rubber shell provides good protection. I’d put it in the upper-middle level of the quality scale and guess that it should hold up well over time, assuming the electronics survive. II. Performance – This is a great machine if you want to be able to access multiple vehicles with the same device. With over 150 makes and 100,000 models, it has most vehicles. It won’t go as deep or allow as much control on any single vehicle as if you get one specific for that vehicle. However, it’ll do a good amount of things you might need and provides a lot of usability for diagnosis and testing, that you wouldn’t normally have access to. The 6000mAh battery and connectivity through the OBD2 cable, have worked great so far. It comes with a 5in screen that’s sufficient for the job without having tinny print, that also has a touchscreen that’s very responsive. It comes with 7 resets, that’s more then most of the others I have. That means you can reset 7 different things Ike oil, SAS, BMS, Throttle Adaption and many other fault or maintenance codes. III. Updates – Keep in mind that most similar devices cost extra to update after certain amount of time, if you need it. This one by contrast claims to have free lifetime updates, which would provide a huge value for most people. It’ll still work without updates and give you access to your last updated info. Overall, this is a solid scan tool that has worked wonderful for my needs. With this device and my mechanical abilities, I can take care of most things at home if I choose to and that’s an amazing time and money saver. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. If you’d find it helpful to see an up-close visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen or landscape. You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. I recently got into DIY fixing to save some money. I saw this diagnostic tool, and while it can't fix issues, it certainly changes my outlook on the vehicle that's being tested. Simply plug this in with the provided cable and soon you'll have your diagnostics.
