Description
Fire Red Neocaridina Shrimp are popular among the shrimp hobby and are great for beginners! They are higher grade versions of red cherry shrimp. 10 shrimps per gallon is usually the recommended rule. Fire red are hardy, non-aggressive and spend most of their time eating algae and biofilm off plants, glass, and substrate, making them an awesome clean up crew for your tank. Simply dechlorinate clean tap water or RO water, cycle your tank with some plants and your new shrimp colony has the opportunity to thrive. Please do keep in mind to avoid using tap water that is heavy in metals or chemicals that are not healthy for your shrimp. Please make sure that all foods or aquarium fertilizers are shrimp-safe when dosing your tanks. Proper Tank Parameters for a successful Neocaridina colony: Temperature: 65-80F pH 6.5-8 TDS 170-250 ppm GH 5.5-8 Quality Shrimp Breeding: We will provide you with a healthy ratio of females to male shrimp so you can have your own colony that can take off! Try to keep different colors of neocaridina separate to maintain offspring color and purity. Inbreeding different species types can result in a duller “brown” colored offspring. Each of our shrimp are high grade shrimps with genetic lineages tracing from award winning breeders in Taiwan. Shrimp Food: There are many shrimp foods out on the market. They do well with dry foods such as fish flakes(without metals) or fresh vegetables such as boiled spinach. Please boil any fresh vegetables and let air-cool before placing in tank for sterilization purposes. Decorate your tank: Neocaridina shrimp LOVE grazing on different types of plants such as java moss, taiwan moss, fissidens, bucephalandra, java fern. Baby shrimps also like grazing on floating plants such as dwarf water lettuce, Salvinia minima, and Frogbit.
