    • A good solid free-standing safe for homes
I was searching for a new safe with a fingerprint reader, but a decent smaller one often costs a few hundreds of dollars. So I found this one which is slightly more expensive but has a whole lot more room than a portable smaller one. It has enough space for several rifles and pistols and ammo. It's free-standing and wobbling a little bit, so you do need some sort of fixing to mount it either against the wall or the floor to avoid toppling. Otherwise, it could be a safety hazard at home to start with, especially for homes with young children. Our children are all grown, and I put it in the corner of my office. But I still use a metal bracket to fix it against a bookshelf next to it. So far so good! It serves the purpose and easy to use. No complaint so far, but I'll write an update after a few months of use. ... show more

    • Happy - yet frustrated...

I was happy yet frustrated when I got this product. I normally don’t write negative reviews but I wanted this to be a good FYI in case others also run into the same problem with their safe. First off, the hardware was exactly what I expected and I give credit to the solid biometric and keypad feature. It was pretty reliable and it never fails when I attempt to access the safe. My only complain was when I first got the product, the door was jamming after unboxing - i.e. door won’t open and at first I thought the shelves inside was blocking it. So I flipped the safe up side down and was eventually able to open the door. I didn’t think much of it so I placed the safe in the spot I wanted and started loading my ammo and firearms. Few minutes later after I shut the door, same behavior occurred - door wasn’t opening and it seemed like something underneath the door wasn’t clearing. At this point I was getting frustrated as I had to carry the fully loaded safe and flip it upside down again just so I can open the door. I did a bit of investigation and noticed the bolt under door wasn’t engaging. At this point I was contemplating whether I should return the safe or just suck it up and open the door panel to see what was going on. Sure enough, I discovered that screw that attaches the door bolt and locking me mechanism was missing (see attached photo). Aside from this mishap, everything else on this product would have been perfect. Worst thing is they send this warranty card that boldly states that every product they ship is fully functional — they clearly missed mine during quality control checks. ... show more

Sturdy and well made. Fingerprint reader very easy to set up with multiple fingers permitted and stored. Works every time and blinks green to confirm. Faster than using the numeric code option and should be more reliable in the dark when you want access to your firearm.     • Just the right size
A lot of the gun safes I looked at were to large to fit in the area I needed it to fit into. The safe is sturdy and comes with pretty detailed instructions on the operation. I like having two shelves in the safe and triple methods of entry.

After researching the other options, this Langger V seemed rated very well. Received my new Moutec safe the other day, well packaged with no damage. So far it’s worked perfectly for my closet space. The 3 options for opening are good to have and work perfectly, quick and easy. Definitely bolt it to your wall or floor to keep it from tipping over with the door open. Seems to be quality made, so I’m looking forward to using it for a long time! Customer service is awesome as well, Alan responded quickly when I registered the safe online.     • Nice safe but has a couple issues!
I had a hard time setting my number code as the instructions leave out one part of the process! Had to Google it and watch a YouTube video! Also the handle that opens the safe has a lot of play in it! Other then that I like the safe!

    • Just right for a few rifles.
If you don't have a lot of space but need a safe for a few rifles and ammo, this is the safe for you. The Biometric scanner works great with no issues. love the fact that I store up to 100 finger prints which is way more than needed. Love the fact the key hole is hidden. I do wish the shelves could be adjusted but not really an issue. Still gives plenty of room for ammo. ... show more
