This is a very well built and easy to use ladder. I have had this for a few months and it is by far my favorite ladder I have owned. It is wide, which is great since I am a big guy and small ladders feel like toys when I am on them. Nice tray to keep tools. Even taking down Christmas lights, on softer ground it never felt unstable, the wide feet did not sink in the grass. I will be the first to admit that I am definitely not the handy man I'd like to be, but with that said I like to do work around the house and my house is a narrow three stories that has a lot of vertical elements that can only be accessed while on the stairs. In this particular instance, I was trying to install some nano leaf lights on the wall of the stairway that leads into my loft area. I needed a ladder that can accommodate being on the stairs, and I will say that this is not the ladder...at least the ladder that fits perfectly on the steps. There are three pegs that offer you three stages of height difference that attempts to compensate for the height of the stairs, and in those three instances the distances between the legs gets wider and wider, resulting in a wider skew that is wildly unsafe. This ladder is definitely for steps that have like two feet lips on a patio, definitely not for your standard stairs in a standard house with a reasonable grade of incline. So of course being the unsafe DIYer that I am, I started putting bricks on the lower feet to compensate for the height difference on the ladder. My wife quietly observing me immediately shook her head in dismay...but this is not a story about me falling off the ladder. This is more a story of me wearing flip flops while trying to extend the ladder and accidentally releasing the pegs to extend the ladder and the foot of the ladder landing squarely on my right pinky toe. Ouch. I actually think a fourth peg or notch would be enough of height ratio to work with the ladder, but drilling a fourth peg would definitely compromise the structural integrity of the design. So the work around ultimately became me putting this ladder at the base of the floor and adding a long wooden plank on top to meet the stairs. Definitely a ghetto rig. The short version of this long winded review is that there is not enough latitude in the ratio of the feet to adequately use the ladder in a standard stair scenario. this is more for wide steps in a a patio. Or just use as a regular ladder. I would just stick with a fiberglass one if that was the case. ... show more
