NGL bought this solely for aesthetic reasons because I wanted a more visually pleasing espresso maker to go with my Talavera mugs. I’m not an espresso expert but I am a coffee enthusiast and drink daily. I’m enough of a coffee snob to know that any “pod” espresso maker is never a match for freshly ground and brewed but unfortunately I can’t afford these $600-1000 barista espresso machines so I decided to look for something that would meet both my needs halfway at least. I was more than pleasantly surprised by this purchase. The machine is cute and the espresso quality is legit. I’ve had it for a few months now and I have stopped spending money at coffee houses entirely! I much prefer making my own to my taste, at home! I make perfect iced lattes in the comfort of my own home now. I got some quality flavored syrups and and sauces, super extra crema Lavazza beans, plus some glass coffee tumblers and the experience gives me all of the dopamine! I was worried to order because y’know it’s Amazon so it’s hit or miss. Luckily, so far it’s been a hit. It’s not as noisy as some say. I mean it’s a a machine so it makes noise when it pulls the espresso and steams milk but I don’t plan on operating it in the middle of the night or around sleeping babies so the noise isn’t an issue for me. Hopefully it doesn’t stop working after a few months the like everything else you buy on Amazon. But if lasts me at least 2 years, it was worth it! The only real con is the milk steamer. It’s not the best by any means but I have a separate milk frother so it’s fine. I also prefer shots over ice so I don’t need to use it as much. When it does work, it works ok. Mainly it waters down the milk so much which I’m not a fan of and it squirts everywhere which can be dangerous! ... show more

We've had our machine since Christmas, and I just want to say that we love it! We wanted to try our hand at making our own espresso drinks at home, and we ultimately picked this one due to it's compact size. We live in a small apartment which does not have much counter space, and this was perfect! It's narrow and takes up less space than our traditional coffee maker does. I was also excited about the steam wand feature, which works pretty well for steaming a single cup. I'm sure there are higher powered machines and steamers out there, but for the price and how compact and cute this machine is, we love it! The only down side is that cleaning can be a bit of a pain, but only in the way that any non-pod/filter espresso machine would be. It came with clear and easy to understand instructions, and it could have only been better if it came with the milk pitcher as well. Overall, great purchase! ... show more

This is my 3rd espresso maker in as many months. 3X is truly a charm! I'm impressed with this machine's design, which makes creating an excellent cappuccino foolproof. And for the price, the machine and its accessories have a sturdy weight. The funnel fits snugly in the coffee maker without too much effort (unlike other brands I've tried). There's a little divot in the funnel that aligns with the filter cup. This feature helps you sit the cup in the funnel properly, avoiding messy coffee grounds when you remove it after brewing. The frother is very good too. The only criticism I have is after you froth, there is a bit of leakage from the frothing tube, but I always clean the frother right away, so it's no biggie to wipe up a spot of milk from the counter. Another thoughtful item the manufacturer included was a small pin designed to clean the narrow tube connected to the frother. This coffee maker heats up very quickly: in just a couple of minutes its ready to use, same when frothing. One thing I've learned with this, and the other 2 machines I've had, it's important to avoid "over grinding" the beans. I grind them myself stopping before the texture is too fine. So far--I've been using this for about 3 weeks--it has yielded cup after cup of flawless cup of cappuccino. I'll follow up if I see any deviation. ... show more

It is very difficult to remove the "funnel" (grounds cup) from its holder. You have to position it just right by hand for it to drop out. If you want to brew again right away you'll have to be careful when removing the old grounds. EDIT: the cup has a sharp point on the protrusion that keeps if from coming out of the holder - just file the tip this point to round it and the cup will come out more easily. The other brand machine similar to this didn't require draining water before brewing or steaming, which is an extra step requiring a extra container It works well, just be aware of the above. Machine works great until it doesn't. Ended up spewing hot water out the frother if it was turned on. Took me over 3 months to get customer service to have a conversation with me and get "help". Their help was saying that I did not take care of it even though I showed them that I had the manual and followed the cleaning instructions. They would take days to respond and then treat my situation from scratch. Then I was told I would not get a refund until I put my foot down and much to my dislike, felt forced to go "Karen" on them if they did not help me. They wanted to replace the machine, but that would not fix the problem of something being wrong with this product. After more arguing I got the refund. I took the machine apart and found that a gasket in the frother was melted by the heat of the water rendering the machine unusable. If mine melted, so will yours. ... show more

The machine is a knockoff of the Delonghi Decidia. It sets up and makes espresso the same way. Espresso quality is Ok for a fast automatic machine, but the frother is substandard. It does an adequate job steaming milk, but doesnt make the kind of luxurious foam for a cappuccino.
