This 4 step latter was just what I needed, to get to things in cabinet and to change air filter in ceiling. It's very sturdy and I like the fact that there is a long handle to grab onto.

The step stool does come pre assembled. It opens fine. However, it was wobbly until I stepped on it. What was really disturbing was how narrow the steps are. I am only 5’2” and 115 pounds and the steps are so narrow I didn’t feel safe. I can’t imagine a very large person using this.
