  • pricey, does the trick
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
this product is very expensive. However, you just need a small amount and it is great for sensitive skin for face as well as body. I like it because it has 100% mineral UV filters and is also a broad-spectrum. The price on Amazon was a little cheaper than elsewhere.. it is also dermatologist recommended ... show more

  • Best facial sunscreen
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I’ve purchased so many mineral sunscreens within the passes 5 years and this is by far the best. The perfect amount of moisture. Spreads easily, leaves a light white cast but blends well. Didn’t break me out. Will be using daily.

  • ¡Lo recomiendo!
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
... show more

  • ALL mineral sunscreens leave a white cast! Some are just better than others.
Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
If you're on the hunt for a mineral sunscreen that has zero cast, you're on a long road called IT DOESN'T EXIST. Please understand that ALL 100% mineral sunscreens (ones that contain zinc oxide/titanium dioxide only) leave a cast, regardless of what the package says. "Sheer zinc" "Invisible zinc" - sorry, not a thing. Some are better than others (formulation helps a little), but even the palest skin tones will notice if using the correct amount for the face (typically 1 tsp). To avoid a white cast in mineral sunscreens, look for: 1) Ones with a tint. Tinted sunscreens are arguably better as they contain iron oxides which may help protect against blue light. Don't think of the tint as makeup, but just a way to help cancel out the white cast as they usually provide little to no makeup coverage. 2) A chemical/mineral combo sunscreen. These usually have some white cast, but not nearly as bad as a pure mineral would. Sometimes people who are sensitive to chemical sunscreens can tolerate the combo ones. The La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Sunscreen is no exception, it leaves a pretty strong white cast. But what I like about it is that it's smooth, applies evenly, and feels good on the skin. I find a lot of mineral sunscreens are hard to blend and this one blends out easily. It's gentle like the packaging says and comfortable around the eyes. The white cast will go down after several minutes, but without makeup over it, it's always noticeable to some degree. The darker your complexion, the more noticeable it will be. I actually really like this sunscreen. I know what to expect with mineral sunscreens so I'm not mad that it leaves a white cast. I mostly use it on my 9-month-old daughter, she's very fair skinned and it's gentle enough that I don't have to worry about it stinging or burning her skin. I also like to use it around my eyes and on my hands. Occasionally I use it on my face if I know I'm going to wear makeup over it. It sits well under makeup and doesn't feel dry/cakey. I'm giving it 4 stars only because I think the price is too high for what it is. ... show more

  • Better than expected
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I have been on the hunt for an all mineral face sunscreen because I have sensitive skin that hates everything and chemical sunscreens are bad for the oceans, so mineral sunscreen solves both of those problems! I have very sensitive and reactive combination skin that leans acne prone in the summer because hello, sweat! I don’t wear makeup and I focus a lot on my skincare, so having a a good sunscreen to top it all off matters. Chemical sunscreens tend to sting my eyes and leave me shiny by the end of the day, but I haven’t been able to find a mineral sunscreen that doesn’t leave my face all white and layers well with my skincare without pilling. I tried this la roche posay in 90 degree weather and I liked it. I don’t love it yet, but I don’t hate it. I like it enough to keep it and continue trying it in my rotation. It felt thick when I put it on which I usually don’t like, but it spread with some effort and left no white cast. It didn’t feel tacky and I didn’t feel like it was melting off my face or anything like that. I wasn’t doing much more than sitting around, so I will update if it slides off with higher activity levels. I’m usually really sensitive around my eye area, and this sunscreen wasn’t irritating at all. I don’t wear makeup, so I can’t speak to how this layers with makeup, but it didn’t pill with my serums and moisturizer and it left a very smooth matte finish that I’d imagine would be fine to apply makeup. Unlike some chemical sunscreens I’ve worn in the past, this didn’t leave me shiny at the end of the day. It has no discernible scent which is great if you’re sensitive to smells. I would not say that this could replace a moisturizer if you are looking for a combo moisturizer sunscreen. It’s not drying, but it’s very matte and doesn’t provide any added moisture. I’m comparing to my old bare republic mineral face that was much lighter and softer to apply than this, but the formula doesn’t mix with my new skincare routine. I will update this review after more use to see how it compares to others I’ve purchased. ... show more
