Please be careful with this slicer. The blade is very sharp. I have cut my thumb twice when slicing and once when cleaning. 1. Watch you hand when you first start slicing. 2. Switch to the "hand guard" that is included with the product when the vegetables, etc. start to become small. I slice both ends of potatoes so the tool will work. 3. When cleaning, exercise caution when washing around the blade i.e. note where the blade is and the direction of the wash cloth or sponge. This is easy to clean in under a minute.     • Very sharp and very dangerous!
This ceramic blades are super sharp. Yes, it slices the thinnest I have seen as described. However, the tool needs better design in terms of safety features. The accompany grabber that supposed to help you lock on to veges to cut does not grab well and only if it is a flat surface. Since this is a tool advertized for slicing cabbage which is round in shape, it does not fit the purpose. My husband and I both sliced tips of our finger off (1 week apart). It went fast and that's it before you know it. I DO NOT recommend this tool in your house if you have children at all. If you use it, please be extra careful and go SLOW!. The locking mechanism for thickness is also not very firm, it flips to other size easily. NOT a real intuitive tool. I give 4 stars cos the function of the slicer is to slice vege thinly and it does that. ... show more

The blade is very sharp and cuts well. But the adjustable blade does not make the size cuts that were mentioned, and it is too easy for it to slip. If thickness isn’t that important, then it’s fine. I’m keeping it, but if I were buying this again I would not spend extra money for the adjustable blade. ... show more

This slicer is very sharp but can only do very thin slices. It does not come with instructions on how to change the thickness of the slicing. There is a rolling rectangular thing underneath but it is not obvious how this will affect the thickness. Luckily, I purchased this so I can make high volume thin slices and I don't absolutely need thickness control so, I'm fine. As far as I'm concerned, it's not really adjustable but it gets the job done. Don't pay extra for the "adjustable" model. ... show more

    • Defective product?
The blade is extremely sharp. The adjustment mechanism is janky. But the real problem is that the blade sits above the lower portion of the mandolin slicer. That means that the item you are slicing hits the blade on the return (up) stroke. After examining the slicer, I cannot determine whether the blade is incorrectly installed, or the lower portion of the slicing bed is warped. When I unpacked the unit, I handwashed it in lukewarm water. It has had this flaw since I received it. It was not run through the dishwasher or washed in hot water (which it should be able to handle anyway). I will have to return the unit as it is no useable like this. I use it mostly for thinly slicing cucumbers . I love the fact that that isn’t has 3 adjustable thickness choices . I also use it fir thinly slicing potatoes fir scalloped potatoes preparations.
