We purchased two sets of these bowls in an effort to replace the mishmash of random bowls and other dishes in our cabinets that we’ve accumulated over the years. They came well packed, exactly as described in the listing, are serving my family well. They’re sturdy but don’t feel hefty, and I love the look of them. Using them last night we each had spaghetti served in one bowl and a hearty salad in another and it worked out perfectly because the size of each bowl was perfect for the portions. The short height means that it won’t work well with liquids (cereal, soups, etc…) but they’re perfect for anything that simple needs to be contained. The combination of overall width and short, vertical sides also means that there is plenty of room to bring in a fork and knife if you need to cut up a chicken breast with dinner. I hadn’t realized before buying them that the size and shape of the bowls would make them a little difficult to fit into my dishwasher. With the upper rack they take up a lot of space because they are so wide across, but on the bottom rack they don’t fit into the vertical fins designed to hold the plates due to the sidewalls. If I am going to try and pack the dishwasher tightly I end up easily hand washing these bowls in order to make efficient use of the rest of the dishes, but if you’re doing a less-than-full load they will fit just fine. They also have vertical (or near-vertical) sides which means that they don’t stack into a nice, neat tower for the cabinet. They DO stack, and while it is a little topsy-turvy the stability of the stack is never in question. Overall I am extremely happy with these bowls. We also have taller bowls that get used for soups and other majority-liquid meals, but these ones are what get used almost all of the time. ... show more

I use these bowls almost every day, even though I have another entire set of regular china. These bowls are the perfect size and shape for so many things! The glazes are beautiful colors and mage a nice presentation for your food, it makes it appetizing whether you are having salad, stew, rice bowls … it perfectly cradles an entire dinner serving. Colors are great. Blue is really amazing in person. Flat bottom makes it rock steady. Little on heavy side. Worked just fine warming soup and spaghetti in microwave. They are a little smaller than I though they would be. 8 inches rim to rim. 2 1/4 inches deep. But still would buy again.

Heavy sturdy bowls arrived in perfect shape. It’s quarter inch less than 8 inch advertised. I ordered Caramel color which had very little grey/blue and also much less dark brown in product picture. But mine is much darker brown and blue shade . I understand colors can vary during firing the glaze. Bowls are beautiful but keep in mind some differences in color and size may happen. Quarter inch smaller does not bother me much. I bought these to match a set with similar colors as in advertisement but I guess it isn’t going to match. Have to think whether to keep or return.Good value for money. ... show more
