I just plugged in this KM and it worked flawlessly. It is powered by the computer USB connections. NOTE: The four supplied USB 3.0 cables, which are USB-A(computer) to USB-B(KM), are only 3ft long. If you have USB 3.0 cable extenders handy you will probably need them.

Size: USB Switch 4 Computers
This is a powered USB hub with a hard switch, so that it completely disconnects from all inputs but one at a time. As you change inputs, the whole hub disconnects and reconnects, which has been working quite well for me. I've used others that tried to maintain the hub connection but detach the devices, and that was often troublesome. The simplicity of this switch strikes me as an advantage. However, it uses weird, nonstandard cables, so if the included ones aren't long enough, you'll have to use cable extenders, rather than just replacing them. IMO, this would be a better unit if it used standard cabling. ... show more

MLEEDA 4 Port USB Switch Selector for 4 Computer Share 4 USB Devices I run four different PCs and wanted to integrate them all in one location for multi-tasking and the obvious benefit of only needing one monitor, keyboard, mouse and desk for all four. I use one PC for building design programs, another for graphics artwork design software, the third for website management/accounting and the fourth mini-PC is just for general internet/web surfing. Before, I was using a 2-PC switch for my two graphics computers, but it started causing my keyboard to glitch and would type off a string of random characters every so often, which became very annoying after a while. In addition, sometimes when I would switch over, the computer I was switching to would wake up, but wouldn't show on the monitor, so I would have to switch back and back again to get it to work. When I looked into replacing it, I saw this 4- PC switch and opted for it as an upgrade. I ordered it one day and got it the next, which is awesome, so absolutely no complaints there... I got it all hooked up with the included USB 3.0 cables and after three days, I've not experienced any of the glitches as I did before, ruling out that it was any of my equipment causing the previous problems and was the switch I was using. For some reason, the unit in the pictures they show represents it as being much bigger than it really is and it measures 4” x 2.5” x 3/4”. This is not a problem for me because I actually like that it's smaller, so it doesn't take up more space on my limited desktop. So far so good and no issues going in any order from one computer to another multiple times a day and zero glitches. Technical note about speakers just to help other users (not a problem with this switch) For speakers, you can't split 4-ways into one set of speakers. You can buy splitters, but it will not work and will just hum. My computer speaker set has two inputs (aux. 3.5 and R/L RCA) so I was able to connect two of my PCs with the appropriate cables to one speaker set. The other two PCs, I just left without sound because I don't need it. This is just to try to save someone else from trying to make it work 4-way when it will not, and again, is not an issue with the switch. ... show more
