My dogs and I love this seat belt harness from KURGO. Safe, comfortable, well made and easy to adjust to the exact fitting your dog needs. Anchors them safely in the back seat while driving. And it doubles as a walking harness when we are out hiking, with top and front leash rings. If I stop at a store it's easy to unclip the carabiner so the dogs can move around in the back seat, then re clip them when driving.     • Excellent, Unique Design, So Read Instructions!

I LOVE this harness for my Miniature Poodle! But read the instructions, they are not hard, but it has a unique design. 3 Tips: A) The chest strap has two "loops" to match the size of the dog, with a push snap inside. B) The usual plastic push & click fasteners are REPLACED with a really cool "slide through" design. Push it through when aligned with the cut-out notiches, and then it lays flat to secure the harness on the dog. C) When you put the seat belt buckle through the "C" clamp on the back of the harness, turn the buckle sideways! Then No problem. This is a very high quality and sturdy designed harness, yet very comfortable for my Poodle. Love it! ... show more

The harness was surprisingly easy to put on, it takes about as long as a regular snap harness. You do have to be careful to make sure it’s pretty snug on your dog or else, because it doesn’t lock together, if your dog is really wiggly it comes undone. The carabiner makes it really easy to secure your dog in the car, but it can be difficult to get your dog unclipped (this might just be because my dog is so wiggly). My dog also tends to get himself all tangled in the seat belts as you can see in the picture. I don’t know if this makes it less effective, but he starts whining if he gets too tangled and it is annoying to try to untangle him to get him out of the car. These are annoying but this harness does keep him contained in the car and gives me peace of mind on our car trips. It is also a pretty good walking harness and seems very comfortable. Update 8/2023: I’ve been using this harness for the last 3 years and I love it! We use this harness for the majority of our outings and there is literally no wear and tear, it looks just like when I bought it. I’ve thrown it in the washer and dryer with no problems. When we go hiking the burrs and other “sticky” plants don’t catch on it. When I have him on a tie-out I use this harness so if he does lunge at something, it distributes the force well and doesn’t choke him and doesn’t break. As long as it’s snug it doesn’t slide around and I haven’t had any problems with the clasps coming loose. And because it has metal clasps instead of plastic buckles they don’t wear out, get loose over time, or break. My dog is very fluffy so I was always nervous about getting some fur caught while buckling but with the clasps I don’t have to worry about that. I’ve used this same harness for several dogs with very different chests, including ones with very narrow deep chests and it fits well. My dog seems comfortable in it even if he wears it all day, he gets so excited to put it on and will even sleep in. We don’t use it as much in the car, but we use it almost everyday whether around the house, going for walks, training, runs, hiking, etc. ... show more

This thing is very well made and I agree with another reviewer who said the buckles are great. It’s quick and easy to put on the dog. Makes a nice walking harness too. I feel it would be protective in an accident.

I loved the idea of this harness. One that's reasonably priced, well made, safety tested for car use, and also could be used on regular walks. However, I ended up not being able to use this on walks because of the comparatively heavy weight of the harness and overall poor fit. I think the weight, along with not enough areas of adjustment, contributes to it falling to the side while in use. While I also love the safety of the fasteners, they are tricky to insert (only one side can be inserted into the corresponding slot) on a wriggly dog. While it's a bit inconvenient to use, I probably could have overlooked that if the fit were better, and if it could be used on walks. I ended up getting a more adjustable, lightweight harness for walks, which made this harness have less overall value to me. Unfortunately, not a keeper. ... show more

I spent ages researching a quality car harness for a reasonable price since my puppy outgrew the Amazon basics carrier I was using before. The kurgo harness feels solid and my pup did not complain at all wearing it. It takes slightly longer to put on since you have to tighten the straps each time. It was designed with all metal rings and clasps for safety. There are no use of plastic buckles or rings that could fail in a crash. I love that I can take him directly from the car to walking using the same harness. One minor complaint is they should replace the carabiner with a larger, lighter one. I use my own carabiner used for rock climbing to attach him to the seatbelt. ... show more
