    • Kumi KU6 Is Missing Features and Support

I recently purchased multiple Kumi KU6 Smart Watches for my family. The list of features on the KU6 product page at https://en.kumi.top/products/kumi-ku6-meta appeared to be a good fit for our requirements, and the price was reasonable. Setup was relatively simple, and so far they have worked somewhat as expected. Unfortunately, the exceptions have included missing watch functions and a total lack of support from Kumi. NO COMPASS FUNCTION Kumi claims there is a "High Precision Compass" function on the product page for the KU6, but with all available functions enabled in our watches, the Compass function is nowhere to be found. The details of the watch hardware indicate that the KU6 cannot support this feature as it lacks any GPS capability. CUSTOMIZED DIAL FEATURE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY The Customized Dial feature should allow us to use one of our own pictures to create a dial face for the watch. The feature worked correctly on a KU6 paired with an Android 14 phone, but failed to work on a KU6 paired with an Android 11 phone. According to the published Kumi specs, it should work correctly with any Android version greater than 4.4. INCONSISTENT WEATHER FUNCTION I repeatedly observed a disconnect between the weather information displayed on the watches and the actual conditions at the watches locations. I have found no details regarding how the weather information is obtained by the watch, and there is no location or status information included in the Weather function display. NO KUMI SUPPORT When I reached out to Kumi for assistance with our issues I never received a reply. We have not yet decided if we will return the watches because of these issues, but given the complete lack of response from Kumi support, it is clear that if we decide to keep them, any problems we encounter will likely remain unresolved. ... show more

    • Reasonable Price, Numerous Functions but an Awkward Interface

This is my first “smart watch.” Primarily, I ordered it for the blood pressure monitoring feature. I was hoping to have the watch automatically monitor my blood pressure but I can find no way to get it to do that. Manually measuring blood pressure with the watch is easy but the readings never matched my Omron monitor. The watch blood pressure readings consistently were more “normal” than my cuff machine so I don’t have much confidence in its results. I’ll admit that initially, I was challenged by the numerous functions and their use. But after of months of exploring the watch's features, I find some to be gimmicky and of little benefit. For example, the “Contacts” feature only allowed me to add ten contacts to the list, not give me access to my phone’s list of contacts. Even more disappointing, I was not able to select a contact and make a phone call or send a text. The “documentation” was useless, nothing more than a list of the features and the corresponding graphic, nothing about how to customize or initialize the function. The only time “Contacts” provided any useful information was when receiving a phone call from one of my ten entries. With no other watches to compare to, I don’t know if this watch is typical or not. I do know that I was disappointed with the fact that once charged, the watch starts discharging and continues to discharge, even when left attached to the charger. It was very frustrating to grab the watch from the charger to discover that it was at one-third of its full charge. With biometric features, it is no surprise that to be able to perform, the watch needs to be somewhat tight on the wrist. Thankfully, the watch strap stretches and has numerous slots so it is easy to adjust. While the strap is waterproof, I did not subject the watch to water, always removing it before bathing. The interface of the watch could use some improvement. For example, when arranging the order of the functions, the add (+) and delete (-) graphics were so close to the up arrow that it was nearly impossible reorder the functions. I found it easier to simply delete everything and then add them in the desired order. Overall, I think this product is a good introduction to a smart watch. The price is reasonable and there is a good variety of functions that you can experiment with and determine which ones you need and those that you do not. Also, if you just want a watch to free your hands to receive an occasional phone call or to track a few activities, this watch should be a good choice. Have fun! ... show more
