They work. I was able to mount a 4x6 photo and four 5x7 photo cards. The cards came out reasonably well because of the border around the photo - but these have no mat so if you're putting just a photo print in them it might look so-so. The frames are cut slighyly larger than the format, so you will have to adjust carefully to get the edges lined up. The backing with the stand, nail-hanging rings and clips on it is also undersized so you have to be careful not to shift the photo when installing the backing. Theres a plastic sheet which looks ok. I did notice that there's some visible gaps in the corners, if you look closely. I think the $35 cost is a little high for the quality. You can get better frames at Target, but 8 frames there would be more expensive. ... show more

The current price of $23.97 for 8 frames seemed like a great deal, so I was interested to try these out. They are good frames for the price. They are not the strongest or most fancy frames that you can find, but I wouldn't expect that at this price. I think the frames themselves are good quality. The acrylic glass is not quite as clear as glass, but it won't break, so that is great. It comes with a sheet you will need to peel off of both sides, so it is well protected for travel. I think it is clear enough and shows the picture well. The biggest flaw in the frames, to me, is the back piece. It has the little bars that you push down and turn to hold the back tight against the picture. These work well, but you may need to slide the back piece around a bit to get them to all catch under the frame perfectly. It is doable, just not as easy as on some other frames. There is a lot of space in the frame so they work well if you have a thicker picture to put in there. It has an option for displaying these frames on a table or hanging them on a wall. Also, they can be used vertically or horizontally. I find this to be a good value set of frames that is great to have on hand for the next time you need a frame. ... show more

I never seem to have a picture frame of the correct size on hand when I need one. When I saw this set of eight frames at an attractive price I ordered them right away. The frames themselves are black (anodized I think) aluminum connected at the corners with galvanized internal 90-degree brackets. The backs are held on with three swivels that are spring-loaded to ensure that the picture is tight against the "acrylic glass", which of course is not glass at all in the standard definition of glass. There are hooks on the back so that it can be hung in portrait or landscape mode, and fold-out supports if you prefer to display it on a tabletop (also in portrait or landscape mode.) About that "acrylic glass". There is a film on one side that you need to remove (I didn't find any film on the other side). So my only concern is that the plastic "glass" might get scratched over time. I deducted one star because of this, but it might not bother you. These are lightweight metal frames. For some reason, I thought they would be larger even though they do show that the measurements are 4x6, 5x7 picture frames. The cardboard backing that is included does have the option to either hang the frames or stand them on a counter or table top. Happy with the silver metal frame and will stand these on my credenza with all my grands' pictures! ... show more

You might need a little piece of foam for these. It just doesn’t seem to hold the picture tight. So you end up seeing a little opening on the edge. You have to peel off the protective sticker on both sides. But they are easy to do. It’s simple to take the back off and on with your hands - no butter knife or screwdriver needed. ... show more

I liked that you get four 5’7 and four 4’6 picture frames . I had no problem hanging them but found that even after removing the clear film it wasn’t the clearest like an actual glass would be. The frame itself aren’t the thickest but it gets the job done.

These frames are very lightweight. I chose the gold color. Sometimes inexpensive frames with a gold edge have a cheap appearance that looks like plastic. These are very attractive with a polished design that gives them a classic look. At first glance, the acrylic inserts appeared to be bad quality, with small scratches. I checked the product description again, and it mentions that they are covered with film on both sides that should be removed prior to use.
