I was hesitant to order this Kradl staking kit due to the price when compared to other simple staking kits; however, I am glad I ordered it. This system is very well made of strong plastic and metal parts. Legs are metal, while everything else is made of plastic (ring, adjusting knobs for legs, stakes and clips that attach legs to ring). Putting it together is a breeze and setting it up could not have been any easier. What took most of my time during installation was adjusting the legs to make sure that the ring was leveled and centralized around the trunk. I wish the angle of the legs could be adjusted to make it narrower so that I could have installed the legs with stakes inside the mulch around the tree; however, I also understand that doing so could compromise the strength of the system and its ability to protect the tree. It is not a huge deal, only an inconvenience when I have to mow my new lawn around the legs. I added a protective layer of a few plant velcro strips around the trunk to protect from it being scratched/damaged by hitting the plastic ring as other reviewers have complained (see photos). Overall, feels like a very good, sturdy system that you can just store away and use in the future when needed. Hopefully, nothing will rust and if so, I will update this review with those details. I am so glad I found this tree support. I had steaks holding my trees steady and upright, but I am so glad I found this one. It looks so much better than the steaks and it supports my tree perfectly. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to support a young tree.👍👍👍👍👍

    • Love the updates to Version 2.
I purchased two of the original Kradl tree supports, and while they were good - there were definitely some design flaws that made them less than perfect, for example: the mechanism to clasp the ring together was not super strong, and on one of my earlier models one of the legs would just spin and never 'lock' within the inner part of the leg - rendering it useless. This new model addresses both these issues, is sturdy and heavy-duty, and the legs lock in easily. The new stakes seem to offer more support as well, which is excellent. Another reviewer mentioned the tree's bark being rubbed off - in order to address this in one of my young trees with a lot of movement, I used the small strips of Velcro plant wrap to protect just the areas that might come into contact with the main ring of the support, which solved my problem perfectly. My only critique is that the included instructions do not actually show how the legs insert into the ring, which would be helpful to see if you've not assembled one before. This new, updated version is excellent - super sturdy (especially against Colorado front range winds), and can be reused over and over again. I highly recommend this new version! ... show more

This was an expensive product, but I love my trees and it was totally worth it. Its been windy in south florida, so after I planted my trees, they were getting partially pulled out of the ground. This is perfect. It lets the tree move around, but keeps it in a particular spot. Also, I hate taping the trees, and this is a great alternative. I'd order three more if they were less :) ... show more

NOWHERE NEAR WORTHY OF $75!!!!! It's now a complete ripoff and they should be ashamed of this pricing! These things are the best for newly planted trees. However, a couple years ago they were $40. Now they are practically double! I feel like companies are raising prices because they can blame it on inflation... Doubling in price is NOT keeping up with inflation! Hit em where it hurts and stop buying things like this when they take advantage of people. All companies practicing this should go out of business! ... show more
