  • Meet our needs
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
This purchase was a replacement for the same headset, which was bought 3 yrs. ago and used daily for TV watching for a hearing impaired person. This is a corded headset, to which we've added an extension to the its roughly 8 ft. cord. The user is pleased with the comfort of the adjustable over the ear pads and padding on the headband. He especially likes the ease of having the volume control feature on the cord. The padding covering on the set did start to peel, but given its age, we still think it a great value. ... show more

  • Good Headphones With A Great Price
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I have a 9-year old pair of these UR 29 headphones. They still sound fine to me even though the foam over the speakers has mostly worn away while the imitation leather on the ear pads flaked off like black snow years ago. I use them now listening to music or watching a DVD while I ride my bike on rollers in the basement. I bought this new set for listening to my old Philips HI-FI in the living room. Comparing the sound of these to the old set, I could tell no significant difference. Comparing these to the Over Ear Head phones I bought recently, both are good, but I like the sound of this Koss UR 29 model a bit more; the Over Ear phones seem to emphasis the base more than I usually prefer, thus, adjustment is required at the HI-FI unit. Finally, these are comfortable to use and it's good to have the volume control right at your finger-tips. Addendum: the headphone chord has the consistency of a long, soft spaghetti noodle and doesn't wind-up easily or neatly when not in use. A minor con, perhaps, but annoying. ... show more

  • Love them, but mods are nessicary for longtime durability
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Like others have said, these do have pros and cons, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I have owned four pairs of these over the last eight years or so. It is actually five, as the first set was RadioShack brand but was still Koss built. Keep in mind, I write this review as a "stationary" user of these, meaning they never leave the desktop computer and are never folded up or transported. Anyways, the cons. Like everyone else, the rotating collapsible feature is mediocre, and three of mine all broke that way. The other two failed from the other reason, broken cords at the volume adjustment. The secret to making these last is simple, this pair I have now (number five) has lasted two and a half years, longer than any other because I took a hot glue gun to these brand new outta the box, and applied heavy beads of the glue to the folding and rotating components. Granted, this prevents them from folding ever again, but if you use these like I do just at home, this will strengthen them tremendously and they won't break again. As for the volume adjuster and cord, I used a product called Shoe Goo and applied a heavy application at the strain relief on each end, about an inch away from it down the cord and this stops the looseness in the wiring. I tried this on this set and has proven to work well. I did just order two more of these units as the one I am using now (no. 5) is now broken, but they fell off the desk and got under foot, breaking the left earphone off. They still work, but are taped for temporary use. Prior to this, they were still very secure and I'm sure would have lasted a couple more years without issue. As for the sound quality, I'm not a sound engineer or anything, but I do like to hear my music very clear and loud, and these have always delivered that without any complaint. I still recommend these to anyone and I love them myself, but as before, if you plan to use them without gluing them or using as portable, don't expect them to last longer than 6-8 months, the plastic is just too brittle. ... show more

  • Headphone with a volume control
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I am very pleased with this headphone. I wear hearing aids and the volume control on this model is very helpful. The clarity is very good. The cost is very reasonable. You can't go wrong with this headphone.

  • Can leave the volumeon my device higher than normal and control the volume with the slider.

I like these headsets very much although they are a bit small over the ears.

  • Second Pair, no to a third
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I had a pair of these for years and loved them. Having a volume control right at my side vs having to go to the computer to change volume was one of the features that I loved the most. Sadly the cord got caught and cut, so I ordered a replacement pair. I found the sound quality to be not as clean as the old pair; it's a bit muddy and boomy in the low end, while missing some treble. And now, after only a few months, one of the ear pieces has come apart from the headband. I don't see anything broken, but repeated attempts to put it back together have failed, so I'm left looking for a new, different pair of headphones with a volume control. ... show more

  • I am a professional transcriptionist, and I love these headphones.
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I am a professional transcriptionist, and I have been using these Koss headphones for years now. I love the long cord and the ability to adjust the volume on the fly right from the cord. The noise cancellation isn't as good as some of the pricier headphones out there, but it's definitely enough to manage difficult audio. I think what I love best is the comfort. I have worn these for upwards of eight hours at a stretch, and they never make my ears ache, something I've had trouble with when wearing other headphones. I've been transcribing for seven years now, and I've only had to buy three of these headphones. When you consider that I'm using them 40 hours a week, that's incredible use for the money. I also want to shout-out the seller. I ordered these on a Sunday and received them the next day. 10/10 service! ... show more

  • Headphones With Volume Control
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Purchased for watching TV. I wear hearing aids and have difficulty listening to TV. Volume control is a plus since commercials tend to be louder than programs.
