  • These sound great but comfort may be a concern
I bought these as I really like the sound quality of the Koss KSC75 ear clips and wanted a headset with mic. Sound quality is great and the mix works well, but if you have longer hair, comfort might be a concern as the extension and folding mechanism of the headset can pull at your hair

  • Great sound
Comfortable, light weight, and sound great, what’s not to like. Sound feels very balanced with maybe a little lack of bass. Mic also seems good, but other than condensers, I do not have many others to compare with. I wish it would have the feature where if you rotate the mic upwards it mutes it.

  • Phenominal Mic Quality
I have a slight problem in that I love Porta Pros despite their very obvious flaws. I have FOUR pairs now including this one. Good (this model only): Outstanding microphone. If you want to sound professional in video meetings, this is a good choice. Crisp, clear, wow. Not even in the same league as the Utility/KPH30i mics. The mic quality is what is elevating this from a 3 star to a 4. Bad (this model only): Had to exchange because the boom arm on the first pair did not have enough tension to stay put. No matter where I positioned it the boom would droop down onto my chest or flop onto my back. No issue so far with the second pair. Headband adjustment is super loosey goosey compared to my others. if you need them adjusted in the vast majority of the available range, they will not stay there. I've found the best method is to fully extend them, put them on my ears, then give both sides a push inward to match the headband to my head. I would not attempt this with long hair. BOTH the exchanged pair and current pair were identical in this regard. As always with PPs: Good: - Cool 80s styling. - Comfort. Can wear these all day on light Comfort Zone setting. Easy comfort upgrade without voiding warranty with Yaxi pads. - HEADPHONE sound quality. - Lifetime warranty though I suspect Koss is still making a profit on the 9 bucks or so they want when you ship it to them for replacement. Bad: - Hair puller 3000 depending on your scalp. - Hair trigger on comfort zone mechanism still reduces its usefulness (I make a shim out of a toothpick to keep the position on light) - Cheap build, 80s style comes with an 80s design with no improvements. ... show more

  • Koss Porta Pro Quality with an Awesome Microphone! PC Users READ
The usual Koss Porta Pro Quality (4.7/5 for size, they hold their own against larger units) With a really good microphone! 4.6/5 on the microphone, with it maybe being a little bit quiet. It is very clear and a nice all in one solution. The boom is actually long enough to reach comfortably where you need it to be; something which often falls short on smaller headsets with microphones. The headset is a little expensive compared to the usual Koss Porta Pros, but the microphone is WELL above average and lives up to the Koss name. As usual YAXI pads can make a world of difference if that sort of sound is what you are looking for. I think the stock pads on these may be thicker than some of the older models, but I might be wrong. Regardless, YAXI pads are a side-grade you may choose if you want the properties they provide over the stock Koss pads. If your computer does not have a built-in DAC to overcome the higher impedance Koss Porta Pros usually have, you'll want to grab a DAC as well if you want full power. They can definitely handle a little EQ if need be, but will sound very good even without a DAC. These are open back earphones, so you'll still be able to hear sound around you. If you have large computer fans or a loud background, keep that in mind. If you are using a PC, you'll likely need a 4-pole TRRS to 3-pole splitter. This will split the single connection (Made to work with modern phones and some consoles) into two connections; Stereo audio and Microphone. I use DUKABEL and ANKER products when I can, below is what I use to split my audio with. DUKABEL Long Headset Splitter Cable (4ft/1.2m), 3-pole TRS Microphone(Male) & Audio(Male) to Single 4-pole TRRS (Famle) Jack Headphone Adapter / Crystal-Nylon Braided / 24K Gold Plated / 99.99% 4N OFC ... show more

  • Basically a Koss gaming headset, but better
I have used my modded KSC75 for years, usually pairing it with a separate microphone (either on my desk or a lav) for gaming communication purposes. Once I saw that this set existed, I knew I had to at least try it, and oh boy was I happy once I did. I have not owned a Porta Pro before, since I didn't really feel the need to spend extra on what is essentially a slightly different KSC75 sound with odd aesthetics and a headband. Now that I have tried these, I will say that they match my sound signature preferences a little bit better, and feel more comfortable compared to the stock ear clips of the 75s. Those who prefer the sound of anything similar to this family of headphones will be pleased. For me, the real star of the show is the microphone, which absolutely destroys many built-in mics from headsets that are around the same price or even more expensive. Keeping in mind that it is an omnidirectional mic, you won't be getting much in terms of noise suppression, so it will pick up background sounds. However, you will get unexpectedly impressive clarity in your voice that others will likely notice immediately! I'd say that I prefer it over the Sony ECM-CS3 lav mic that I used to use, which I also liked. If you want to keep the Koss sound but also want the convenience of a gaming headset, I would highly recommend this set! ... show more

  • Only lasted 6months :(
I bought these headsets in November 2022. I am devastated to say that today the right-side audio stopped working. So, these headsets lasted me at least 6 months until they broke. Which sucked because I did enjoy these headsets. So beware: these headsets are nice, but you won't have them for more than a year before they break. 😢 ... show more
