  • Great device for work, highly customizable
Color: Black/RGB backlit/Red switches
I bought the keyboard with the red switches. Feels great to type on and the size is excellent for my use case. It is well-built. The important features for me were the programmability and the onboard memory. Every single key can be programmed to whatever key or key combination (eg alt+d, ctrl+x, etc.) with the software that you download from Koolertron. The software isn’t as straightforward as something from Razer or Logitech but since most people purchasing this product will be geeks to some degree it’s easy to learn how to use it after a few minutes. All of the key modifications are saved to the keyboard so you can plug it in to any pc and it will work. Additionally there are 4 programmable “layers” so that you can switch between 4 separate keyboard layouts. The software allows you to program macros but I didn’t bother with it, I use AutoHotKey which is unbeatable for macros. The RGB lighting is great too, I typically work in a dimly lit room. The only flaw was that it wobbled a bit after I attached the rubber feet to it. To resolve that problem I stuck a thin piece of rubber under the wobbly foot and it stabilized the keyboard. ... show more

  • Really awesome, but beware the Mac software
Color: White/Blue backlit/Blue switches
First off, this little keyboard is amazing! It's very snappy, springy and the LED are BRIGHT! Solid, sturdy and it come with a FULL set of key caps (pictured in the plastic bags), a puller and even a very nice cable. BUT MAC USERS BEWARE: The Mac software is TRASH. I have the M1 Mac and the software just refused to run. Basically you have to install home-brew, then their Usb drivers, all via terminal commands, BUT, some of those commands don't work on M1 Macs yet. Even after I figured out how to run terminal in rosetta, in the end, the software just wouldn't run! Luckily, I hadn't sold my old MacBook yet, so I WAS able to get the software up and running that side BUT, I couldn't adjust the brightness of the LEDs! They're super bright any annoying and I considered returning it BUT I borrowed my daughter's PC (and she complained big time) and on PC, man, this thing is a easy to setup! Read the manual. figure out how to use the software. It just takes a moment. Then, get this, you can make the LEDs PULSE! EPIC! So I set the brightness to a more reasonable 20%, set up the keys just how I wanted, then unplugged it and plugged it into my Mac. PERFECTION! So, if you have access to a PC, I highly recommend getting this for your Mac OS computer. If you have an M1 Mac, you will NOT be able to use software... AND the LEDs arrive at 100%, which you'll probably find annoyingly bright. With better Mac support, this sweet little keyboard would be a home run. Still, if you're into this sort of things, I highly recommend it. It's worth the effort. *UPDATE 1/10/21* I got it working on my M1 Apple Mac mini!! Here's how I did it. Instructions for M1 Macs: 1. Download the amag software. 2. Make a copy of your terminal app in the Utilities folder. Rename it Terminal Rosetta 3. Get info on terminal rosetta and click "run in rosetta." 4. Install homebrew by copying this command: /usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" 5. Follow the rest of the amag instructions in the PDF (skip the homebrew step on their PDF). 6. Move the Amag software to your apps folder. 7. Go back into Terminal Rosetta and type: sudo chmod -R 777 /Applications/amag.app 8. In the Apps folder, right click on Amag app and choose open. You might have to do it twice. The app should work now! ... show more

  • My favorite setup gadget! Perfect for productivity or gaming
Color: White/RGB backlit/Red switches
As a mechanical keyboard enthusiast, this thing is the perfect sidekick! For regular PC usage I leave it locked on a certain layer to use as a nav cluster, and for gaming I move my keyboard so that I have just the keypad and mouse in front of me to utilize the full space of my mousemat. It's pretty fun being able to whip my mouse around without worrying about crashing into my keyboard! I imagine it would also be super useful to map keyboard shortcuts for photo/video editing. There are a generous total of 4 fully programmable layers, with every key being addressable per layer. For users of custom keyboards, like 60%s running QMK, it should be completely intuitive to be able to shift up and down layers. One handy feature is the ability to "lock" (toggle) a layer, so it stays active without holding the Fn key. Macros are simple enough to work with, just remember which macro is which because you can't rename them. Also as other reviews have stated, you may have to split keypresses into up and down if the macro involves holding a key down while pressing others. RGB is SUPER bright. The LEDs themselves are brighter than any of my other keyboards, and it is only further amplified by the acrylic case and white keycaps. Customization is limited, with the only animated modes being breathing, blinking, and a rainbow wave, but you can at least choose what colors to go through. You can also set it to change to a certain color when an Fn layer is locked. Included in the packaging are what appears to be a full set of white doubleshot keycaps, as well enough extra blank keycaps to cover each key. Honestly, my only complaint at all is with the Outemu Red switches. They're scratchy, have crunchy springs, and the bottom out feels mushy. However this doesn't have to be an issue if it really bothers you, as you can always just desolder and put in new switches. I personally installed holtites for my WASD keys to make them hotswappable, since those are the only keys that I would really care how they feel, and Kailh Box Reds are an infinity% improvement (just note that you'll need switches with the big rectangular LED cutout because the SMD LEDs protrude from the PCB). I have not had a single issue with the hardware or software; it worked right when first plugged in without having to fiddle with any drivers, every switch works, and every key does exactly what I program it to. Finally, the value for this little keypad is amazing! You get better programmability than the ones from Razer/Logitech at like half the price, and I'd argue that this one has the best form factor as just a slice of a keyboard instead of a literal numpad or some terrible claw shape. If you're in the market for a keypad there's no reason to look elsewhere! ... show more
