  • Convenient.
Size: XG-12 PRO 255
Easy to install and uninstall. I was impressed how it centered itself on the tire with just a couple rotations after installation. I do like the pack away case they store in as well. Worth the money. I keep them in my Express service van.

  • Chains fit and worked well
Size: XG-12 PRO 247
Had an opportunity to try these chains on for the first time after the ice storm. They were easy enough to put on. They fit the tires well and I was able to drive around a bit and get to where I needed to go.

  • Appear solidly made
Size: XG-12 PRO 247
(husband's take): Haven't used these yet but have tried them on in the driveway. I'm sure putting them on in the snow will be comparatively more difficult, depending upon how much snow you're dealing with. I'd keep a small shovel in the trunk to help in this regard, just in case. Taking them off was much easier and, I'm sure, will be easier in snow conditions, as well. You'll likely have to back up the car/truck to do this. I'm also quite confident that their design & build (i.e. chunkiness) will get you through most snow & ice conditions you might encounter if you absolutely need to drive under those conditions. As I recall, I think the instructions or guidance say not to drive faster than ... was it 35 MPH? ... when you have them on. I think that's good advice and I intend to abide by it. ... show more

  • Excellent performance on Ford Ranger
Size: XG-12 PRO 255
I remember chains from the 1970s growing up in Canada. These Konigs are phenomenal and easy to put on. I did practice before winter came and then used a floor mat as a kneeling pad when putting these on in the snow. My '22 XL Ranger's only a rear wheel drive but these chains gave me confidence with their fantastic traction. I carry them year round (I suppose you could use them in the mud, in a pinch). The carrying case is plastic but has held up well. The "mat" that comes with it is just a piece of visqueen, better than nothing I guess. I have since added a large kneeling pad to my gear and will likely use it the next time. I heartily recommend these, just be sure to buy the proper size. ... show more

  • Quality
Size: XG-12 PRO 265
The quality of the snow chains is absolutely the best I have probably ever seen. First time used them in West Virginia mountains after they received heavy snow and ice storm. They worked fantastically. My truck was able to tackle extreme inclines and declines on a seasonal snow path. But, unfortunately, one of the chains unhooked, and was lost. I am going to assume that I probably made a installation error. Now I have to decide do I buy another set or just deal with one chain. I am hoping the manufacturer can assist me in this situation. Thank you. ... show more

  • Great chains
Size: XG-12 PRO 247
I have a masters in mechanical engineering so am picky when it comes to items like this. Last weekend we used these chains on a Honda Odyssey to drive Tahoe area mountain roads during raging blizzard conditions . Some road areas were icy and some had 10+ inches of snow. I'm extremely impressed how these chains performed. They stay wrapped well around your tires and give great grip on icy snowy roads and they are way more resistant to wear and rust than cheap tire chains WARNING: you should practice installing these chains (step-by-step following the manual) when your car is safely in your driveway because you do NOT want to learn how to put these on your car on a mountain road in deep snow. It is a tricky multi-step process to put these chains onto your tires correctly. If ANY brand tire chain is incorrectly installed it can tear loose and damage your brake hoses or your tires. ... show more

  • König XG-12 PRO 235 vs. Pewag RS 77
Size: XG-12 PRO 235
I purchased & tested both 'Pewag RS 77' and 'König XG-12 PRO 235'. König chains outperformed Pewag in show and ice. Also, König chains are thicker and more heavy duty. I returned the Pewag chains.
