Kobalt makes a small and large version of this impact. This is the smaller of the two. I own the larger Kobal impact, but needed another for my son who is now working with me. I intended to get him the same tool I have, but accidently ordered this not realizing it was the "little brother". HOWEVER, I am shocked it has similar power as the large impact. Setting 1 is weakest and setting 3 the strongest. When removing lug nuts I use the 3rd setting. When installing lug nuts I use the 2nd setting. I have not returned this tool due to my mistake. But it was a good mistake because this is a little less expensive than it's big brother, but has very similar power. My son has been using this impact commercially, providing roadside assistance for AAA, for 3 months. He averages 6 tire changes a day. The 4AH battery it comes with lasts about 8 tire changes. Kobalt offers a 6AH battery for about $100 that lasts twice as long, if not more. Great Quality, Light Weight, Practically Drop Damage proof. ... show more

Came in a full sized hard case with a battery and charger. Battery charges fairly quick. The tool itself is rather heavy. I'd have to guess it's over 10 pounds, not counting the battery. I bought a twin pack of extra batteries for it, and a full set of impact sockets as well. There is enough room in the case for the tool and 2 batteries. Just plug one into the tool, the other has a well/place holder in the case. There is also enough room in the case to keep a couple of sockets, although they would be loose and rattle around. The case closes up nice and tight though. So you wouldn't lose them. As for durability and capability..... I live in northern MN. It's winter now, and below zero. I was able to change out 8 wheels/tires with this thing. I don't have a garage so I was outside dealing with the freezing cold ( -15F) and this thing didn't even struggle. This makes a great kit. Have had this impact for 3 years now! This impact is just as good as Dewalt's impact. I was going to choose DeWalts impact, but DeWalt is greedy! All their power tools are WAY overpriced! Also yellow & black color for Dewalt is an ugly mix choice. Blue is cool! Trust me guys, you get almost the same amount of power out of Kobalt's power tools as DeWalt's power tools. Another reason why DeWalt sucks! They love to not add any batteries to their power tools! Kobalt gives you a better warranty AND A BATTERY + CHARGER with most of their power tools!! Kobalt also has better armor and tough skin on its power tools for extra protection from drops and scratches. ... show more

I got it on sale through Amazon. This is the best impact ever. Went toe to toe with my brothers Dewalt and took some off it couldn't. With the five year warranty, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Awesome battery life as well.
