Description

Bike bells generally look & sound a bit ugly. But why? What if they looked sexy & sounded like an angel playing a glockenspiel? A bell with a beautiful tone, but also a remarkable style and choice of materials that embodies a rider’s personality. The Small Oi fits 22.2mm bars e.g Mountain bike (near the grips), BMX & some old commuters. The Large Oi fits 23.8 to 31.8mm bars e.g. drop bar road bikes and some cruiser / commuters. Please make sure you know where on your handlebar you are going to place the bell (grips or stem) before you order as you may need a different sized bell.

  • Subtle in looks but also sound
Color: Black Size: Large Style: Classic
The bell looks great, very sleek and subtle. However the sound is not great. With the right positioning you can achieve a good enough ring but the feel of the trigger hammer is not as nice as some other bells ive had.

  • Cute
Color: Black Size: Small Style: Luxe
It's a very nice bell. Looks really great and the handlebar. It's nice to use on shared pathway. Although it is not always loud enough, it usually does the job.

  • Decent Minimalist Bell
Color: Black Size: Small Style: Classic
I got the standard (non-luxe) bell as the all-black version appears more stealthy to me. It's an excellent choice it you want to eliminate bulk or need to integrate a bell on a handlebar with limited available space. The sound is sufficient. Not the loudest, but loud enough to signal effectively. The hammer is also quite responsive. Would love to see an all-black luxe version in the future as as I'm not the most keen on the plastic feel. Overall: A nice form factor, sound, and price. I hope to run this for a long time. ... show more

  • Great bell, tightening method not that great
Color: Black Size: Large Style: Luxe
The bell is nice, and has a good ring to it. It is not as obtrusive and ugly like many of the traditional bells. My only complaint is the tightening of the bell, though it doesn't move freely when riding, it does have a tendency to move after some use or when loading and unloading the bike. A small annoyance, ut I would purchase the bell again if I ever had too. I have put 400 miles on my bike with this bell. It still hold up well. ... show more

  • Loud and cool- not sure about mounting
Color: Black Size: Large Style: Luxe
I bought the luxe. It’s good volume and low profile. I will say though as far as mounting the thing is to get the ores where they need to be and the striker in the right place, it’s best to have the bell end facing the rider instead of forward. Not sure if this reduces sound quality or volume for alerting others, but I’m sure it would be better up or forward. Think of where the cables are on your bike, and which way the bell would have to sit for the cable slot to be in the right place and the striker to be there as well. ... show more

  • The coolest looking bike bell out there
Color: Black Size: Small Style: Classic
I bought this bell in the summer of 2018; it's 2019 now and I'm giving my year-long tested review. The reason I got this - I'm in NYC, and in the last few years as biking has become increasingly popular with younger riders, specifically teenagers who get together in groups and do "ride-outs", which for those who are unfamiliar with the term, is dozens of people swarming the streets at once on their bikes and basically taking over all lanes of traffic. Because of this, the NYPD has been cracking down on bicycle safety, and people have been getting tickets for not having proper equipment, or the worst case scenario, getting their bikes seized for dangerous riding. I'm a BMX rider, so I set out to make sure I have all the proper items on my bike so I would not run into trouble. I know it is unorthodox for a BMX to have all safety gear required by NYC equipped on it (people usually strip everything down off these types of bikes for weight), but I'd rather have this cool looking bell than pay a fine for not having it. The bell itself - I absolutely love the design of it. I'm surprised it hasn't existed sooner. And even though I could have bought any random cheapie bell just for my bike to be street legal, I specifically got the Knog Oi. I know there are tons of counterfeits floating around since it came out, but I truly appreciate the design and engineering that went into this bell. The original creators deserve their recognition and should get the benefits. It has a pleasant tone that is clearly audible; although on a very noisy NYC street it can be easily drowned out. In more suburban or rural areas it should be fine though. The bell's ringer is very stable on it's springs and I haven't had any instance where it went off unless I hit a really rough patch or a pothole. The only complaint about the mounting is that the instructions specifically tell you not to overtighten the screw; so over time it will get loose and the bell will move. Not a big deal, so aside from invariable re-tightening of the screw, there's nothing wrong with this bell to knock any stars off it for. The packaging - The packaging looks great and there's no complaints there. However, I had no idea the bell came with it's own hex key (alan wrench). I found it inside the box only after looking around for special instructions about what hex size the screw takes after trying to use every wrench I had and none of them fit. I'm guessing the screw is either specific to the Knog Oi, or perhaps it is some kind of Australian metric size that isn't common in the United States. Either way, it's not a big deal, but there's nothing on the packaging that says the hex key is included. I had no idea it came with one at all. But if you're wondering, it is found under the inset holder that the bell sits in inside the box. Overall, this is just the coolest looking bike bell out there and perfectly compliments an aggressive looking BMX bike. If you're looking for a bell just to get your bike up to code to be street ridable and roadworthy, this is the one. Excellent invention and excellent product! ... show more

  • Nice compact bell!
Color: Black Size: Large Style: Classic
This bell was easy to install on my child’s MtB. I used the spacers and then had to add some tape to the bar to ensure it would not rotate when being pressed. I bought two like new versions that both were easy to install and function great! One of them is a little easier to ring than the other but they are both loud enough to let people know we are coming. The design is also nice as it is compact and basically looks like part of the bar. Definitely would buy these again in the future! ... show more
