  • This is NOT a toy!
There is a message on the battery door cautioning you to (I paraphrase) remove dead batteries from "the toy" (I quote). Although its appearance could make you think otherwise, folks, this is not a toy! The sound quality is amazing for an instrument that, frankly, looks and FEELS like a toy and cost so little money. But, to my ears, it sounds like a musical instrument. I'm over the moon about this thing! It seems pretty sturdy. It's tiny and light. It can be powered three different ways (none of which are included) The keys are very quiet (much quieter than a 61 key Casio I own) and I believe the number of tones and rhythms will be more than adequate for a great number of users. It features some effects that are fun and some virtual instrument tones that sound really beautiful. There are, of course, some cons that go with the many pros and I'll update my review if they become too bothersome. Overall I'm very very pleased with this instrument and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone except those with the very largest hands (although some of them may like a challenge!) Learning music is challenging at any age but so rewarding! I find musical instruments magical and this one is no exception. Its magic (for me) is that the smaller size of both the instrument and the keys has opened up a whole new world. I can now play, correctly, notes that I would usually miss on my larger keyed instruments. This wonderful bit of serendipity has turned my ukulele-focused head back to keyboards! (Well, not exclusively...) I ponder their possibilities, and mine: the familiar ones as well as the new, and those yet to be discovered. ... show more

  • Small but mighty and fun!
The media could not be loaded. The Kmise portable piano is a really fun entry level instrument. The keys are smaller to allow little hands to make a lot of noise. The keys are still large enough for my man hands. The keyboard has 128 tones and rhythms built in for lots of variety. There is a metronome function in if you are learning how to play consistently. I found the controls easy to use but could not figure out the recording function and the directions for that are not in the book. I love that the keyboard has three power options. I ran it with a battery backup with no issues. You can also uses batteries or a wall adapter (neither are included). I plan to use this keyboard as a music therapy tool for young children and for adding a beat to songs I record with my Kmise tenor ukulele. If you are looking for a kid sized keyboard with a lot of fun features at a great price, this one is for you. ... show more

  • Great value, quality small keyboard!
This is a fantastic small keyboard! The sound quality is fantastic for it's size and very clear. It has great volume! The features are user friendly and abundant for such a small unit. It is perfect for small scale music projects and a ton of fun. I am blown away by how many fun sounds and features for sounds there are. The keys play smoothly without sticking and this is a quality product in this price range. I play ululele but love having something small like this to accompany my ukulele in apps like Acapella for some basic rythms and percussions as well as simple melody for keyboard. This is a great little keyboard at a wonderful price! The look is nice asthetically as well. It is not a toy like keyboard at all yet a great starter item for any casual player or child interested in playing for fun. ... show more

  • 32 key- Nice gift for 7 year old. Not great with headphones
Happy with sound quality & fun features. No instructions or beginner song ideas, but kids will find a way. The volume with headphones is extremely quiet. Perhaps this is a safety feature, but it’s too quiet when room noises are around. I’d recommend this as a simple & nice sounding little keyboard. Be sure to buy an AC adapter if you don’t have one. ... show more

  • You can't beat the price
I needed an inexpensive keyboard to practice notes for choir music, and this keyboard is great for that. I was disappointed that it didn't come with an AC adapter. Not sure, though, if I would have chosen this keyboard if it were $10 more expensive, so I suppose they made the smart marketing choice. The sound is good. Don't expect great things from a $40 keyboard, but it sounds as good as I had expected, and plenty good for light practice. ... show more

  • Didn't work and no response from the company
This keyboard is garbage. The volume was backwards, low was loud and loud was low. When you touched certain keys it hummed and buzzed and did not work. The company did not respond to my email and Amazon didn't make good for it either since it was past the return window. Waste of money.

  • Tiny but very decent tone
I needed a tiny keyboard for figuring out the occasional harmony or chord. This little guy is perfect for that and stores easily away when not in use because it's teeny! The piano tone is surprisingly realistic for such an inexpensive little keyboard.
