  • Like A Bora BR-01 But Much Better
Size: 88 Key Folding Piano
Though the first folding piano I bought was nameless in the item description, I did research on what brand name it came from and I identified it as a Bora BR-01. I found the model name in the instructions manual and the brand in another website. It's sound quality is hampered by those tiny, though eye-catching, speakers. I bought this K-muse folding piano for virtually the same money as the first yet it bears a big improvement over the Bora I bought previously. Portability is sacrificed by the true full-size keys and bigger speakers so the weight is double that of the prior folding piano. But the build quality is much stronger and the folding mechanics are superior thanks to the foldout interlock latch which the previous purchase lacks. For performance the sound quality is superior, a benefit of the bigger speakers. Battery life for both of the folding pianos I purchased have promising results in this regard so far. The ease of use is improved by means of the small high-res display and the rotating knob and the buttons next to it. I think the membrane keypad on the Bora I first bought is a bit noisy and the durability of the buttons is doubtful. The performance on the other piano feels fast and nimble but the touch of my fingers on the keys of this K-muse feels clumsier but that is mainly due to the need to get used to the larger keys. This folding piano still tops my previous purchase for value for money. ... show more

  • Love it!
Size: 88 Key Folding Piano
"Absolutely thrilled with this portable piano keyboard! My 11-year-old daughter is in love with it, and so am I! The size is perfect for her to carry around easily, yet the keys are full-sized and feel just like a real piano. The sound quality is impressive, with a variety of instrument options and built-in rhythms that make practicing so much fun. The headphone jack is a lifesaver for quiet practice sessions, and the recording feature has sparked her creativity like never before. The durability is also noteworthy; it has survived a few accidental bumps and spills without any issues. Overall, this keyboard has exceeded our expectations and has become an essential part of our music practice routine. Highly recommend it for any young musician!" ... show more

  • The heavy hammer action digital piano is an excellent choice for the pricepoint
Size: 88 Key Weighted Piano
This review is primarily for the "88 Key Weighted Heavy Hammer Action Digital Piano". I also bought Kmise's "88 Key Folding Piano Keyboard" and can tell you that it is hot garbage by comparison. I was hoping the folding model would be a portable version of its "Heavy Hammer" big brother because it looks like the same controls, but the voicing samples are totally different in an extremely bad way, and the touch response is very inconsistent from key to key as to be nearly unplayable. If you're gonna buy either of these keyboards, get the "Heavy Hammer Action" model. As for the heavy hammer model, the keys feel quite heavy, so it is obviously fully weighted. The hammer action is more noticeable in the black keys, not so much in the white keys. The textured grain on the keys is a nice touch. The keyboard has a fairly substantial weight and feel, and of course it's a full 88 keys long. I wouldn't exactly consider it "portable", however it can be moved around easily enough. The built in speakers suck and honestly sound better if you dial down the volume. Without the instructions it's not too hard to figure out the controls, but the controls are cumbersome to work with. It has your typical 128 or so general MIDI tones. Some are good, some are ok, some are meh. The all important piano samples are somewhat good. There are no effects such as chorus, reverb, vibrato, or even a pitch bender. You can't even layer the tones. A few more buttons such as a number pad to directly enter instrument numbers would have been nice, because the knob dial lacks responsiveness. IMHO, the built in rhythms and demo songs are useless features on this keyboard. Stuff like that shouldn't be on a keyboard like this anyway. The music stand was also about useless. It did not fit well, so I left it off. The included pedal works fine and surprisingly doesn't make any clicking or creaking noises. While some of the above critique may seem a bit harsh, this instrument does have a decent enough piano-like feel and sound and is worthy of consideration. It should work well for beginners and even serious musicians on a budget. ... show more

  • This is NOT a toy!
Size: for Beginners Kids(No Power Cord Included)
There is a message on the battery door cautioning you to (I paraphrase) remove dead batteries from "the toy" (I quote). Although its appearance could make you think otherwise, folks, this is not a toy! The sound quality is amazing for an instrument that, frankly, looks and FEELS like a toy and cost so little money. But, to my ears, it sounds like a musical instrument. I'm over the moon about this thing! It seems pretty sturdy. It's tiny and light. It can be powered three different ways (none of which are included) The keys are very quiet (much quieter than a 61 key Casio I own) and I believe the number of tones and rhythms will be more than adequate for a great number of users. It features some effects that are fun and some virtual instrument tones that sound really beautiful. There are, of course, some cons that go with the many pros and I'll update my review if they become too bothersome. Overall I'm very very pleased with this instrument and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone except those with the very largest hands (although some of them may like a challenge!) Learning music is challenging at any age but so rewarding! I find musical instruments magical and this one is no exception. Its magic (for me) is that the smaller size of both the instrument and the keys has opened up a whole new world. I can now play, correctly, notes that I would usually miss on my larger keyed instruments. This wonderful bit of serendipity has turned my ukulele-focused head back to keyboards! (Well, not exclusively...) I ponder their possibilities, and mine: the familiar ones as well as the new, and those yet to be discovered. ... show more
