I like doing artsy things with my kids, so I thought we'd get a spin art machine and have some fun. And that's exactly what we did. We took it outside today because I've never done spin art before and I wasn't really sure what to expect as far as splatter and mess. And while there was some paint splatter, it wasn't anything too crazy. It was enough to make me glad that we took it outside, but not bad enough that I was like "Never again!" My kids absolutely LOVED it! They could use it for hours on end. I enjoyed making spiral art with the markers first, and then spinning it and adding paint. We quickly learned a few techniques too. For example, if you very lightly touch the tip of the paint bottle to the cardstock, it makes a little ring that splatters outward in a fun pattern. If you do one big glob in the middle, it'll make a circle shape and splatter out from there. And it only takes a little dab of paint to make the art. If you do more than a dot, the paint will splatter all over the markers that are standing up in their holes on the machine. But it only takes one time to know that was too much. Cleaning off our hands was a breeze. Cleaning the machine took a little more work, but it wasn't too bad. We are going to have a lot of fun with this. Bought this as a white elephant gift since we have a 7 year old in the family and try to include her in the exchange. She brought this over on a cold winter day and it was so much fun! I love that there are ideas/examples of what to create on the shells on the outside of the box. We had so much fun thinking up how we wanted to decorate them. It says they are real shells but I think they are molded from clay-I could be wrong but there was thin, overhanging edges at the bottom of some of the larger shells. We decorated these to take to the cemetery and place on various headstones. These are water color paints so you'll need to spray with a clear coat if you plan on exposing to the elements. So many cute ideas - would be perfect for a wind chime etc ... show more

This spin art set is way fun! We loved that they provided everything you need to get started. Great for kids and teens to be creative with. The quality is not bad at all, you get a really good value. We liked that they gave you washable paint and markers. The templates are cool to use and it’s easy to set up. Super fun to mess around with and get different patterns. This is not a paid review or after receiving the free product review. I thought combo of spiral art and spin art in one product was a great idea and I still think it would work if the product quality was better. The paint bottles are very small; after a few try, they’re empty. The glitter pens came dry and we tried to soak them in water. They worked for a little bit but still too dry. My biggest issue is with the splash guard-it’s a piece of thin plastic and it doesn’t stay in place during spinning. Also, it’s difficult for small hands to switch it and put it in place between spiral and spin art, making the paints go everywhere. Overall, I don’t recommend this product. I wish I had bought two separate products: spiral art toy and spin art machine that offers more sturdy and better quality splash guard. However we had still had fun making mess and creating “art” so I am giving 3 stars. ... show more

My 6 year old has fun with this spin art kit! The spirographs are a little hard to get the hang of for little kids but the paint is the most fun with my son!

This spin art set is great for young and older kids. The kit comes with essentially everything needed including art paper, markers, paint, and glitter markers. You do need AA batteries (not included) to make the art station work/spin. We used the regular markers and paint; they worked well. Our 4 and 6 year old enjoyed this spin art kit and found it easy to use with adult help as needed. It would make a nice gift for kids. ... show more
