The CL220 measures AC current and NCVT via clamp and AC/DC voltage, resistance, and continuity via test-leads, and temperature with thermocouple. Works great. But either this should come with a Line splitter or Amazon should suggest the line splitter along with this clamp meter. PS: clamp meter will NOT work on appliance cables which has all three wires in one cable. Hence you need a line splitter.     • What I needed
Style: Clamp Meter
I was pointed to this specific meter by a friend of mine. For some reason, this meter is the only one that will reliably give an accurate reading on a ground or a neutral wire. I have 3 other amp meters, all by reputable manufacturers in the industry, and not cheapos either. None of them will read with the same accuracy of this unit. Upon getting it, I tried it against 2 of my other meters at my home, and then at a local factory that I do things for. On the hot wires, all read pretty much the same. On a neutral or ground, the other 2 I have would show 0 or a very low reading. This one would show a realistic and higher number. For example, on a 240 volt single phase 5 HP motor that was running at approximately 60% load, the hot sides read 16.7 amps on all of the meters. but the natural on 2 of them showed 1.2 and 2.4 respectively. This Kline meter showed 9.7 which matched what it should be. ... show more
