I have 4 dogs… 2.5 are great with getting their nails done, one runs for the hills, the other half lets me start but after a few toes starts pulling his feet away. For the two more difficult ones it’s usually a two man job. Bought this sling to try and do them solo. It worked great once they were in. Took some thinking but ultimately I stood them on our plyo box set up under a barbell set high on the squat rack. I made sure it was a good height to attached the sling over the bar while they were standing. Once in and attached to the bar I boosted them slightly and nudged the box out of the way. Cutting went great. We’ll see how it stands up over time. My boys are 45 and 60lbs and I got the XL sling… KJ my 60# boy is modeling in the pictures. ... show more

I used this XL size for my 80 lb lab. You first have to put hooks in your ceiling. I had to get two lengths of chain to hang from the hooks, not included. The blue fabric seems sturdy enough. It wasn't entirely clear which end is the front or the back. There are two fabric straps you then put an s hook on and attach to the chain. It came with hooks that did bend pretty easily,, so I replaced with more sturdy s hooks. It did take two people to get the dog in the harness, and then hoisted up onto the chains. At first he hated it and flailed around, and eventually did calm down and just hang there. Overall, once you get used to it and your dog gets used to it, it does do the job, but if your dog is large, it is not a one person operation. However, it is easier to use this and grim and grind the dogs nails, rather than wrestling him on the ground like a wild kangaroo. Would use again, just maybe I could use a Large, not an extra large. Plan on buying stronger hooks and a chain to hang it and something to hang from in the ceiling. Happy nail trimming. ps, I wouldn't use for goats that are pregnant as it does put a lot of weight on the stomach. ... show more

I have 3 corgis ranging from 22lbs to 32lbs. Worked great for all 3! Once they were in the air they didn’t move barley at all cause they didn’t know what to do😂 they normally are so hard to clip their nails, but this made all 3 dogs take me 10 minutes 😍😍 wish I woulda bought it sooner!

I had great hopes for this sling. My older boy had been my biggest challenge, as he was not able to develop some important social skills during his previous owner's fatal illness A combination of "cooperative care" techniques and the sling, actually allowed me to trim his nails without sedation for the first time in years. I was so excited! The carabiner clips that came with the product should never have been included, as they were dangerously weak. Having read previous reviews, I was thankfully, prepared with heavy duty clips that could hold his weight. Our older girl was not thrilled, but I got her nails done in record time without having to lean over and stress my back. Yay! By the time I'd finished with her, though, I noticed that the sling had stretched considerably. My 2 young adult girls, did not appreciate the sling at all. They were both able to thrash about and turn their heads enough to fold them back into the sling. The sling continued to stretch and began to give the last dog a wedgie which finally prompted me to release her. The material is an abrasive mesh that actually rubbed the skin off her girl bits and inner thighs in under 5 minutes. I would not recommend this product even though it helped with 2 of my dogs. The substandard quality and abrasiveness of the fabric lead me to believe that I will only be able to use this safely a couple more times. ... show more

10/10 would recommend this for a pup that hates there nails trimmed. My baby girl Opal, (staffordshire bull terrier) hated her nails trimmed. I tried it all, one nail approach with plenty of rewards, peanut butter distraction toys, long walks prior to attempting to trim even just one nail. It would take me days to even get one paw complete. Until I can accost this hammock! This set provided it all the carriage, attachment loops, clips, all you need to secure is a functional stable environment to attach the assembly. Within 10 minutes I had all her nails trimmed! My vet suggested this style to assist with clipping my Labradors nails. She hung there calmly and allowed me to cut her nails without a fight. So much better for both of us instead of fighting her.
