I purchased two of these for a dual monitor setup. One worked out of the box and one was dead out of the box. The QA for this product must be non existent.

    • a bit 'mobile' but bright and easy to use
This flexible shaft desk lamp is a nice addition to a smaller desk. The light - brightness, color spectrum - can be tailored to fit a personal choice for lighting. The actual light 'bar' can be extended or can be 'folded' to have a shorter width light source. I did give it 5 stars for brightness and value BUT it only got a overall rating of 4 stars. The reason it 'lost' a star was that it seemed a bit to mobile for my tastes. The clamp that secures the light to the desk seemed sturdy after being tightened. My concern however was with the flexible shaft of the light and with the light bar itself. The flexible shaft seems to be very easily moved - whether by accident or on purpose. The folding light bar also seems to be able to me moved too easily. These observations might not continue as I get used to the location of the light shaft and light bar but for now, they are a concern. ... show more

My husband works on and restores violins and this a very bright spot lamp to help him really see fine details when he is in the restoring process. It has a few temperature gradients for you to choose depending on your liking, whether its a warm light, crisp, or cool light that you need. It is very bright and while it works great as a spot lamp over a work bench it might be too bright for some to use as a standard desk lamp. The clamp is a great feature for a work table set up as it can be move from the left, right side and even back of the work table top depending on what you are working on. ... show more

    • Excellent features for the price. light bleed is blinding me though
This is a fantastic light for the ~$30 range. It has a lot of features that you'd normally see in the ~$50 range with only one deficiency (blinds you). For me this isn't a huge issue, but it seems like a relatively simple fix for what could be a major item for others. Pros: -plenty bright -decent color choices ~2-3 good color modes -gooseneck adjustment - very flexible -controls are on the light instead of the power cable -can be a behind-monitor light or mount from the side -ample height for all types of monitors cons: light bleed is kind of blinding Even cheap lamps get this one right.. but the emitting portion of this lamp hangs lower than the black cover that surrounds it. This is very uncomfortable and even angling it downwards didn't solve the issue; I had to cover it with some black tape. Hopefully this would be an easy fix for the manufacturer. ... show more
