Great little frames for what I needed. They are definitely not top quality, but they are great for the price. They are not smooth to the touch which is why I have 4 stars not 5. I purchased both natural & white oak colors because I didn't see any reviews comparing the two colors and wasn't sure which would match my needs better. Both are beautiful colors! These are solid wood. They can be used on a shelf or wall. They have plastic instead of glass, but that is noted in the description. This does not distract from the value for the price. I would purchase these again. I bought 2 sets and am happy with the purchase.
