My four kids love this robot! We have had it a few days and it does everything it says it will on the box. When we first turned it on the robot did a demo showing us all the neat things it can do. It will say different sayings, spin and turn withe ease, play a few different songs, and has a sensor in the front that helps it know when something is in its way. We event tried it on our carpet, and I didn't think it would go but it did! Our carpet isn't way long and it moves a little slower on it. The remote controller works great and you can control where it goes around. There is also a way to program up to 50 moves for it to do, then it will repeat the moves. My kids think the "Patrol" button is great, it will go around the room by itself. I like that there is a volume control so it doesn't have to be too loud. Another way to have the robot move is by moving your hand in front of the middle of its body where there is a sensor. By waving my hand in different directions it will either go forward, back, or turn. Overall, I have been very impressed! You will need a couple double A batteries for the remote. It also comes with a charging usb cord that you could plug into a computer or a wall charger. ... show more

This was a perfect choice for my 3 year old grandson, but a his 4 year old sister liked it too. Speaks clearly and does several things in different ways. Worked right out of the box, but just note that the controller takes 2 AA batteries, so it would be good to do what we did-bring a 6 pk. of AA's. These days you could pay a lot more for something and it's still junk. This item is reasonably priced in our opinion, and we didn't feel like we were wasting our money, (rare!). Summary: Cute, easy to use, great for kids in the 1-7 age range. Very nice little robot! Really quite impressive for the price, and I'm glad I got it. It came packaged well and works perfectly. It comes with a remote that has lots of fun options. You can control the direction, make him glide or walk, turn, rotate, he can dance, etc. The movements are surprisingly smooth and the robot is incredibly responsive to the remote. He's really quite adorable. The audio is overall really nice. It isn't annoying (you know how kid toys can be). You can control the volume from the remote, which is a huge bonus. The dialogue isn't always easy to understand, but the voice itself is good. The music and the robot sounds are cute. Basically, you won't be miserable if your kid plays with this for hours like mine did. It's also very user friendly, my 6 year old picked it right up and had a blast. He loves that the arms are articulating and that the eyes light up. It's easy to control and kept him engaged for quite a long time. My 2 year old was also delighted with it. She liked watching it move and it's working on figuring out the remote. The 8 year olds played with him and liked him, but it didn't keep them engaged for long. This is a small machine that talks, sings and dances like advertised. Battery life on charge is great. The media could not be loaded. My son loves this robot! It seems to be built well and you can manipulate him like an action figure. The remote is easy to work and includes features like dance and patrol. In patrol mode the robot says to “follow me” and if something if blocking him he will turn and go the other way. The remote does require two AA batteries. He does not sense stairs or drop offs so beware of that. The motion sensing/gesture controls are fun, but (so far) I think they only work in stand by mode. For example, if he is dancing, the gestures aren’t sensed until he is done. He does not tip over. He will turn and dance or go forward and backward without falling. He can go quickly or go step by step in either direction. I gave volume control 3 stars because I don’t see a way to adjust it at all. No big deal though. I shared a quick video of my 5 year old controlling him with the remote. I would recommend this as a gift. ... show more

My kids are 10 girl and 6 boy. They were both really excited to try it. I charged it during dinner and it was plenty charged to play with when dinner was over. I put in the 2 AA batteries needed for the remote and they were immediately able to play with it. I liked that the instructions were mostly basic and self explanatory so that the kids could figure out how to use it very easily. They liked how it could dance and it has surprisingly really good balance both on tiles and on carpet. We have 6x6 inch tiles through much of our house and the robot didn't tip over going from tile to tile. It has a couple of cute little tunes that it can play. The "patrol" button actually works pretty well so it won't run into walls. Most of the Robot's voice we could understand. There were a few words that seemed difficult to understand. It's like the Robot's voice has an accent on it's English but it doesn't stop my six year old son from enjoying it. The hand motions worked well except the back-up hand motion seems to be tough for it to pick up and sometimes thinks you are wanting him to turn. My kids want to get the other one now too. We ordered the blue. I love the volume button especially!! My son can turn down the volume when I want him to play more quietly. The robot is light enough that my son picks it up and flies it through a room too. ... show more
