The first ladder that arrived was very sturdy but handles were damaged in shipping. Elena, in customer service, responded quickly and exceeded my expectations. The ladder has been great and it was exactly what I needed to reach the super high cabinets in my new house. My husband also used it to put up some outdoor lights. I love how stable it is and the wide steps plus the hand rail makes you feel secure.

The ladder itself is terrific, sturdy and not heavy. Mine arrived in a damaged box and was missing the dozen or so pieces of hardware required to install the handrail and tool tray. Amazon remedied the situation but the manufacturer, although they responded timely, offered to compensate me to go buy the hardware on my own. Not ideal but not the worst situation, just the instructions give no specs for the hardware and neither could the manufacturer. After two trips to Home Depot and about $10 out of pocket, I have successfully completed the installation, albeit with not exactly the same hardware. If anyone finds themselves in a similar situation, I used (4) #12-24 x 1.25 machine screws and hex nuts, (2) 1/4 inch finishing washers, and (4) #12-24 x 1.5 machine screws. I might sub out the hex nuts for cap nuts. Subtracting one star for the hardware situation. ... show more

I thought it could have been better protected, the box was torn badly on all sides and the ladder hanging out the end. Luckily it survived with just a couple of scratches. The weight of the ladder being tossed around needs a thicker box. I have not used it as yet so hopefully it will last me a long time. ... show more

I assembled this and was a bit bummed out when I realized the provided screws to attach the handrails were not catching, and even after screwing them in, I could pull them right off. Everything else went perfect during assembly. Initially was going to return, but because of it's wide base, this ladder provides me with enough stability even without using the defective handrails, so rather then going through the hassle of deassembling and returning I chose to keep it without handrails. this is not reallly a lightweight step ladder...thankfully!!! myself and my spouse are rather old and fluffy, so we needed to upgrade our step ladder to one that is much more sturdy, taller and that will handle our fluffiness. This is perfect! Added bonus of larger steps as well
