OK, first of all I've been professionally taking cars apart and putting them back together for the last 7 years as an autobody/refinish tech. You see some cars with little to no sound deadner and some higher end cars with lots of it. Eventually you come to see/hear/feel the difference this stuff actually makes for cars that didn't have it at all or have very much of it. We've always used the 3M sound deadner pads that are shiny, black, and come 10 large (19"x19") squares in a box. Did a 2008 Crown Vic with those, they worked well. Those are much thicker than this stuff and weigh a fair amount more. (NO, I'm not complaining about weight) I just always thought that if it was heavier it HAD to be better. Well, I'm working at a different larger shop now, and it would've been harder/more expensive to get the 3M pads, so I gave these a shot. I had to do a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe for noisy/hollow sounding doors, a couple of which pinged like a drum head when they closed, thanks to the foam/adhesive breaking down on the diagonal support inside the door that the door-skin is bonded to. So, I did a few big strips, (it does not need to be completely covered!!) inside all 4 passenger doors, and rear gate. The stuff cuts good with a sharp box-cutter (watch the foil edges) Also, it sticks very well when pressed or rolled into place. I then added some Noico red foam to help with additional road noise dampening and insulation. I know some people complain about the "smell" but I never noticed it at all in the Hyundai or my 2018 F-150. This stuff worked great! got rid of all of the pinging/hollow sounding doors and it also gives you a pleasant increase in sound quality/bass response even with stock speakers! The Hyundai doors now sound like closing the doors on a car 3x its price tag with by doing that. They sound nice and solid now when they close. I also did all the doors on my 2018 F-150 with the other half of the box of this and the Noico foam, good results there too!! I will still have a small amount leftover that will go somewhere in the F-150 cab. Good price! Definitely recommend to get rid of hollow/cheap sounding doors or added for those looking for better sound! ... show more

I originally bought the 36 sq ft box and did my entire back of the jeep including about half under my back seat. I decided to go ahead and do the entire jeep so bought the additional 18 sq ft box and finished the rear seat area along with floors in front seats. Not really tried it out with my subs but definitely seems to help with road noise. Would recommend, and zero smell after installed. ... show more

I have zero complaint about the 80 mil kilmat. It was easy to install, literally cut to fit, stick, roll out till the bubbles on the foil layer are gone. Just in covering the back wall and a minimal amount on my rear doors has reduced the noise level of my truck from needing the radio at 20 to now i can use it at 13. Love the product! Used this not only for audio enchantments but reduce road noise on 2009 Mazda 3. Low profile tires + Japanese economy car = road noise.. Works great car doors have a nice solid feel when shutting vs hollow rattle of thin sheet metal. Very pleased with this purchase.

These really work to reduce noise levels in your car. I just put them on larger surfaces, and it made a noticeable difference. I used a roller to press it in and they stuck really well. Made my sound system that much better.

Great value for the money. Order a quality roller for installation (and not a crappy $5 one like I did) First time using a product that came in sheets and wasn’t sure if it would be satisfactory. Turns out the sheets are just easier to work with and the end result is covered with carper anyway so no pressure to line everything up. Very easy to install. I used this on the floor and inside the doors for my Miata. The really intriguing part is the waffle texture which is to show you areas that haven’t fully adhered to the surface. Also, I included pictures of how I make holes for hardware. Lay the material on an area and press down or mark where a bolt hole should be. Then m grab a socket that will be large enough to leave extra space (I used a 22mm) and a soft hammer to pound on the mark (on a safe, hard surface) and then peel out the “hole”. ... show more
