The brightly colored nets were very attractive to our 3-and 5-year old grandsons. Apparently not for the insects and minnows, which were nowhere to be found. Grandsons were able to use the telescoping feature without assistance. Prized flowering bushes were whacked to bare sticks, just in case a Monarch was hiding there. Also used as weapons to hit each other, and to capture the cat (briefly). Finally used as an alarming over-the-head face mask, apparently to rob banks. Slight bending of metal in the neck of the net structure, but no breakage. These butterfly nets survived all activities, very well. Grandparents, not so much. ... show more

i got these for my grandaughter's eigth birthday along with something to hold the butterflies. They are telescopic and her and her siblings loved them. They may not be the best well made out there for the serious butterfly catchers, but they are great for kids under 10 who just want to pluck one out of the air, Butterflies are more prominent now this time of year in our area and she is getting great use out of them. they are colorful, and they are having great success, so they work as well. ... show more
