  • Well padded tablet, weak handle, slow responses
Color: Pink
Kids Tablet, 7-inch Android Tablets for Kids 3GB RAM 32GB ROM 128GB Expand, Children Tablet with Shockproof Case, Bluetooth, GMS, WiFi, Parental Control, Dual Camera (Pink) The tablet comes packaged in a colorful retail box with pictures of kids playing with kites on the front of it. I'm not sure what kite playing has to do with tablets, but it's a pretty picture. The box itself is well made and is a very pretty gift-worthy box. After several minutes of trying to shake the box open, I discovered a tiny piece of tape on one corner holding it closed. I'm letting you know about the tape so you don't sit there shaking it like a fool like I did. Inside the box, there's a piece of closed cell phone on top. Additionally, cradling the tablet. Underneath that in a plastic bag is the tablet itself already in the soft rubber kids-style cover. At the bottom of the box, there is some foam with cutouts that are holding the power cord which is a USB, A to USBC cable, a small instruction booklet, a thank you card, and some basic quick start instructions. Looking at the tablet, the soft rubber feels very silicone and slick, and the front of the tablet. Looks like it has a screen protector on it. There is a little loop cut out of the cover so that the front-facing camera will not be covered. The back of it has a small leaning stand built into it so you could stand it up on the table, at the top and the back and the center is the outward-facing camera and a light. On the lower right-hand side of the back, there's a cutout in the cover to expose the speaker grill on the left-hand side. And about the middle, there is an open slot so you can add a micro SD card for extra memory. Looking at the front on the top, there is an opening for a headphone jack, a power cable port, and a power switch. The right-hand side has a volume up-down button and the entire case is contoured a little to make it easier to hold on to. Turning on the tablet takes a few moments to boot. The start screen is very simple and merely says Android. Once it boots it goes to a very kid-friendly scene that is reminiscent of the outside of the box. Immediately there's a pop-up saying that app updates are ready to be installed and asking you to connect to a Wi-Fi. You have to go into the parental settings to get into the settings for the tablet, the kids are locked out from being able to make Wi-Fi settings. Looking at my local Wi-Fi showing as available on the screen, it's only good for a 2G system, it does not recognize the 5G. So if you have a newer Wi-Fi in your house that does not have 2G, you might have some difficulty Once I got the Wi-Fi hooked up, I started looking at some of the default system settings. The tablet is Android 11, which is a little bit behind, considering that my phone is Android 13 and Android 14 is right around the corner. The tablet shows that out of the 32 gig memory, 19% is used, which gives you lots of extra space to add more programs. Interestingly enough, their default settings allow Google Play services to use unrestricted data. With most home Wi-Fi, this isn't an issue, but if you happen to be using it out and about with a hotspot, that might make a difference. The tablet comes loaded with 28 apps, the standard Google programs including Google TV, along with the addition of a few extra kids, programs- iwawa, quick step, and YouTube Kids. Playing back a kid's video that was pre-loaded with links, Sean The Sheep) the video was okay but wasn't his crisp as I would think an animated show like that would be, the sound was quite tinny, which is fairly to be expected since all the sound comes out of one very tiny speaker. The bottom line on this tablet? This is definitely a kid's tablet. Well of course adults could use it, I would think that an adult is going to get annoyed with how slow this is in a very short period of time. The case, while being soft and well. Padded has a dubious handle that looks to me like it'll get torn off the first time. A kid tries to carry it with the handle. All in all, it's not a bad tablet, as long as you go into the purchase knowing that this is an extremely basic very inexpensively made tablet with okay video and poor sound. ... show more

  • good value

This is a basic kids tablet with all the preinstalled programs you would expect. Set up was easy. The touchscreen is responsive enough for our 3-year-old granddaughter. The case seems durable, and the handle is great for her to carry it around. I think this is a good first tablet for a toddler.

  • Very responsive
Color: Pink
Fires up faster than my other tablet or my kindle. I can actually type on it. For the price, I'd chose this over some of the other models out there. There are a few children's apps that are fun. It also has parental controls, although these might just be a pain for you. My only complaint is do the instructions have to be in 6 point font? I find this, repeatedly, with things I purchase online. Is paper that scarce and expensive? ... show more
