I bought this desk for my granddaughter. It took a bit of time to put together but it was not too difficult. Some of the pictures for the instructions could have been a bit better but it came together in the end. Very nice desk. Looks good and not cheap. I bought this desk for my 6 year old to use as a vanity and for homework as she gets older. I was a little irritated with the packaging. The box was damaged when I received it (not the sellers fault). The parts inside were pretty dusty/dirty. Maybe from the damaged packaging? The seat of the chair also had some significant splintering of the wood on the bottom. Luckily you can't see it from the top. After wiping everything down and assembling the desk, I am very happy with it. It is the perfect size for my daughter and there is plenty of room to do homework as she gets older. The handle for the drawer was missing in the pictures (again, likely from the damage during shipping), but customer service was great and I was able to order a replacement handle from their website free of charge. This desk is going to work okay for my daughter who is almost 6. She fits perfectly in it. so a little younger and the kid might be a tad too little for it and on the flip side too big if older. My daughter is always around the 50 percentile so I would say that she is average sized. She could probably fit into it until maybe 7 or 8. My nephews at 8 and short for their size. They fit okay. Not great but okay. Now here's where they lose a star. This thing is really flimsy. Usually, I put together our MDF products but this time my husband put it together.......which I regretted a couple days later when I went to check it out. The first thing I did was pull open the drawer to put a pencil inside and the whole front end of the drawer came off. It attaches with those metal inserts that you are supposed to turn with a screwdriver once the other end is inserted. I think my husband turned them all the wrong direction because none of them were in place and I almost pulled the whole top off it. The whole thing attaches with those things so just be aware. I know that MDF is thin and nothing like having a legit wood piece of furniture but having a lot of MDF furniture throughout the years and even while I was growing up, I just felt like this was thinner and flimsier than usual. I think my 6 year old will be okay but if an adult were to attempt to use it, I think I would be concerned. ... show more

I recently decided to create a study area under my little girl’s loft bed so she could have a dedicated space for virtual learning in the fall. My husband and I started searching for desks that would fit this space and this was the only desk that fit the space, while also offering a stylish design and drawers / cabinets to place her paperwork and computer. After reading the reviews on this desk, I was very hesitant to purchase it. The photos were littered with broken chairs, size issues, etc. I didn’t want to buy a piece of junk and there weren’t many people cheering this desk on. We finally decided that we could just return it if it were junk, but give it a try since it met all our criteria. I want to say that I was downright angry at the negatives said about this desk once it was assembled. It is sturdy, has ample storage space and a great design. I nearly missed out on the perfect purchase if I hadn’t taken the risk and bought it. My daughter is seven (and she’s tall for her age). This desk fits her perfectly. It isn’t just for tiny toddlers. Yes, it is made of pressed wood. I’m traditionally a fan of investing in real wood, but this desk still looks sharp without spending $500 - $1000 more to get a real wood desk for a child. (Yes, we did price similar desks at mid to high-end retail stores. That was the price jump in case you need “real wood.”) My daughter isn’t CEO of a company (yet) and doesn’t need luxury furniture to impress clients. She needed a cute desk that was sturdy and allowed her to store her school work and study without distraction. This desk won hands down. If you have reasonable expectations and like this design, buy this desk. It was assembled in less than an hour and everything arrived in perfect condition. I could not be happier with this purchase. The desk was delivered yesterday. My hubby put it together rather quickly. Nothing came damaged. The only problem during putting it together was the chair, but we were able to fix it. I will still keep my eye on the chair. My 7 year old loves it! It’s a perfect size desk for her and i love that it’s not big and bulky. We were able to stick it into a corner and it fit perfectly. I am satisfied with the desks dm chair set overall. I would recommend it. Besides it’s hard to find desk anywhere since a lot of kids will be doing virtual learning. UPDATE!! 2nd day of school and the chair broke! Uhhm literally the second day of using this chair! 2 years later: The desk is still in good condition, we were able to fix the chair with some wood glue it held up for a while, it broke some time earlier this year and couldn’t be fixed again. Overall good product. I would still purchase again if I had to. ... show more
