I was expecting this thing to be indestructible for the price but it definitely feels a little flimsy to some extent and it’s really just two pieces of metal, some bolts, and spacers. I’ve had mine for a year now and it was definitely a solid investment but the bolts have been starting to loosen up and need tightening much more frequently. I had it fall apart entirely on me once a week or so ago but hopefully I can get some more life out of it. ... show more

    • Keys get stuck

If you want to take a key out, you have to stick your nails in and try to push it out, instead of it being readily available like in normal keychains. This can take a long time. Then, after using the key, if you try to push it back in, the design flaw is that other keys block it from going back into its slot. So those keys get kind of pushed out too, and you end up either having to fiddle with it or just leaving it as is (because who has time to make the keys lined up perfectly every time) and having a messy keychain that was marketed as keeping your keys neat. I got this for my husband and he hates using it, so I have to put all the keys back on a normal keychain. ... show more

    • Don't use with old fashioned ignition keys.

While this is a great idea, and it held all of my husband's keys and protected his pocket, it turned out to be dangerous to use if you use it for an older style car key. He had the key in the ignition of his van, and that made the rest of the Key Smart key holder stick straight out. (similar to how a knife would look if you pulled out a blade) When he reached for the gear shift, he accidently clipped the end of the Key Smart with the edge of his hand and that made the Key Smart shift upward, turning the key in the ignition as he drove up a very busy street. It turned the car off. This could have killed him. He was able to restart the car, but he was in a center lane and had he just slowed down and/or stopped, it could have been disasterous. Fortunately, he is old enough to be an experienced driver and knew what to do. I would NOT recommend putting one's car key's on this if they are of the old type and not a fob. It wouldn't happen with a key fob as the Key Smart full of other keys would then hang down. It is great for one's work keys, house keys, etc. ... show more

    • Free your pocket clutter!

So far this is a great purchase to include in my EDC. I looked into other options and this has all the necessary functionality without costly frills like lights that won't pay out in the end. I have looked into buying replacement accessories from my multi-tool to add in a few non-blade items but for keys only, this is great. A disconnect key ring helps me to add the plastic handled keys or join with other items or clips very easily. So far the bolts have not come lose but there's plenty of thread tightening options to make it snug but accessible if needed. Just check them every so often and you will be happy. ... show more

    • A little expensive for what it is/does, but it's better than a keyring

Nice key holder to solve that problem of "Ow, my keys keep jabbing me in the leg." It does a nice job of holding keys securely and compactly. Pros: - Expandable from 2 to 8 keys - Includes lots of spacers and also some screw-in extenders to make change the base model from 2-4 keys up to 5 to 8 keys. Cons: - There are no instructions provided. You have to go online to find them and even then they are extremely sparse and not very clear. Basically, the idea is you need to have an even number of keys and/or spacers (or the lanyard holder) on both sides in order for the thing to screw back together again. And the stacked keys and spacers must be flush with the top of the pivots. - You cannot use any plastic-coated keys inside the unit, as they will be waaaay too wide to fit. Also, there are some keys with plastic or rubber inlays, such as one of our Kwikset keys, which doesn't fit...I had to switch to a spare one we'd had cut at the hardware store. - For the price paid, it would've been nice to have the expanders and the spacers in something other than a plain tear-open plastic bag. ... show more

    • Dont Pay 20 bucks for a broken Key chain

Please save your money and DONT buy. there is no locking mechanism. So if i tighten it too much than i have to pry my keys out, if i want to take my keys out without tearing my nail in half and loosen the screw up a bit, the stupid screw falls out. I had it one day and as i was pulling my keys out of my purse the screw literally popped off and all my keys fell in my had. I was extremely lucky it happened in my purse because i would have lost 2 of my work keys. I think its a great idea because it does reduce the amount of clutter but without some way to ensure the screw doesn't twist off than its just another product that works "IN THEORY" I am extremely disappointed because i literally paid 20 bucks for a broken key chain. If they fixed that problem than i would Totally buy it again but until then... dont waste you rmoney. :/ ... show more

Innovative and ingenious key holder. It has a kit for holding more sets of keys. I love how compact it is. I have a push start button for my car so I keep it separate from my car fob. My only issue is if you have a car fob with a key that you start your vehicle with I am not sure if too many keys will out stress on the ignition receptacle. It fits great in my pants pocket and GOODBYE jangly key chain on belt loop! ... show more

I love this. My keys used to jangle a lot. It never really bothered me, except when driving over bumpy roads and they'd bang around against the console. But after getting this, and not having all the noise - I love it. I have 5 keys in it. 5 seems to be the number that fits just right. That's not that many, but it works for me. I had to work out the spacing with the spacers to get it to fit, but it wasn't that bad. I gave one to my husband, father and father in law also for Christmas. My husband likes his too. ... show more
