I was able to use this miter bar to build a guide for my router table that slide smoothly and was very stable with no side to side rocking. The package contains no hardware, but mounting was easy enough with screws I had laying around. My only real complaint was the packaging was nothing more than a plastic bag in a padded envelope - however, it did arrive undamaged and not bent. PROS: Perfect fit for standard saw table and router table T-Slots, slides well, thick aluminum bar, decent powder coating and good recessed screw mount holes already threaded for some applications and has adjustable tension wheels, fits perfect without protruding above the existing surface. CONS: Tension wheels are soft plastic and metal slide wheels have minor burrs and slide much better after a quick sand and buff to remove the burrs. This is a very nice solid aluminum miter bar. It has built in wheels on each end of the bar to fit in T-track grooves if your miter slot has them - or they can be removed if not. There are not any instructions included, but in a couple of minutes I was able to get a snug fit in a Dewalt jobsite saw. Adjusting the fit requires a metric hex key was not included (I think it was a 2.5 or 3mm) but I already had one so no problem. The holes in the miter bar are counter sunk and threaded for M6 screws - which are not as easy to find as imperial. The only problem I had was that my saw miter track is not perfectly even, so the miter bar tended to bind in some spots. This is not a problem with the miter bar - the problem is with the track on my saw. So I compromised between making it snug enough to take out the play but loose enough to not bind. I don't know if the tightening washers will wear out over time, and how I would replace them if needed. With Incra for example, I know I could just call the company and they would send me some replacements. ... show more

This rail is a great alternative to making your own rail guides. It’s sturdy, fits right into the t-track. And the adjustable rings mean I don’t get any side-to-side movement. And since it’s metal, I don’t need to worry about expansion when the weather changes like I would if I’d made some out of solid wood. They don’t include any screws to attach the rail or any additional adjustment rings. And at 300mm (just shy of a foot) they aren’t very long so make sure the size will work for your needs. Very easy to set up and use. Fits the miter slot on my Jet cabinet saw perfectly. Very easy to adjust and dial in with a 2.5mm allen wrench, which is NOT included. Once you install it on a sled you don't have access to the adjustment anymore, which is odd if you wanted to use something on more than one tool. But in my case, I am using it for a jig that will stay with my saw so I shouldn't ever have to adjust it anyway. ... show more

The Dewalt 10” job site table saw comes with one of these, I’ve used it many times to make jigs, I always needed a second one for the jig to slide just right. This is extremely well made, is adjustable, and works great with my Dewalt tablesaw!

    • These are clamping mitre slot bars

These are for mitre slot jigs that you need to lock into your table. There are two metal split rings that expand while tightening down an M6 bolt that locks the bar into the track. You need to drill a hole through your sled to get access with an Allen key, or a slightly bigger hole if you ever want to back the bolt out completely. The thing I like about clamping bars is you can use the clamp to make a precision fit into your table slots. Use a dab of blue locktite and when you want to adjust the tolerance, just tighten down the bolt a little on the clamps to make the bar as precise as possible. This is a much nicer feature than adjusting a set screw on the side of a bar. My only modification was on the rail washers. They are stamped and the edges are rough. I polished them up a little bit and used some dry lube to seal. These rails slide so much nicer than the Rockler pair I just replaced. I'm going to replace the rails on all my sleds and jigs with these! ... show more
