I recently purchased the Kelty Coyote 60-105 Liter Backpack for a 4-day backpacking trip and I have to say, it's a game-changer. As someone who's done a fair bit of backpacking, I needed an upgrade from my previous pack to accommodate a bear vault, and the Coyote fit the bill perfectly. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable the backpack is. The adjustable suspension system allowed me to customize the fit to my body type, which made a huge difference on the trail. Even with a heavier load, the padding was thick and supportive, and I had no issues with soreness or discomfort. The backpack is also incredibly spacious, with plenty of pockets and compartments to organize my gear.     • Very versatile and comfortable pack
Super comfortable, easy to dial in and adjust to my body type. It's a 105L but you can cinch the side straps if needed so it seems smaller. If you have em let all the way out it'll fit your whole house. The zippers and stitching seem durable and the design is very practical. The one drawback may be the mesh lower side pockets which can be easy to snag in bushes but if they are both filled they'll be less likely to do so. The bottom compartment fits a bear vault 450 (and probably even a 500) perfectly so if you have to show it to the ranger then it's easy access. I'd buy it again. ... show more

For the price of these packs are absolutely awesome. Mine has held up great on the Appalachian trail with one exception. The sternum strap came off when I was trying to make an adjustment and I can’t get it back on. Needed a larger capacity for a longer backpack trek. Found this special. The Kelty pack is a very good quality at a great price. Was a tiny bit tricky to size correctly, but once done, the fit is great. This pack does not have all the bells and whistles as more expensive packs (such as internal water bladder option) but was a great deal and will hold up well. I am going to hike in the Sierras this fall and climb a 14K+ peak. This pack is going to carry my gear. It seems well designed and constructed. It has enough volume to contain all my gear for a multiday hike without being outrageously bulky. It seems comfortable enough, but we shall see. There are lots of zippered pockets but what I really like is the large central "container" which has a zipper at the bottom, so you don't have to pull everything out from the top. Since I have not used it yet I will update this review after my trip, but if I don't do a review now, I may be timed-out from reviewing this later. ... show more

This is the second Kelty Coyote backpack I've purchased. My first pack was for myself. It was the 85L. It has been awesome, comfortable and durable. I ordered the 65L for my son. I would recommend this for backpacking.
