These are not the best quality, however I would buy them again with no problem. EOM cost nearly $1000 from dealership. These are 1/3 that price. Easy as good be to install. Two things to remember. 1. Don't use the screws that came from the original tail light. Those are #10 and way too big for this light. I had to go purchase 4 #8 sweet metal screws and cut them down to just shy of 1/2 inch. 2. use black silicone in the backs of the electrical connectors. They are not sealed and after a while water got into the connector. When I pull the new lights out the check them, water dripped out of the connectors. They look fantastic, and identical to oem. Install took 5-10 min. Highly recommend. They are bright! I was hesitant to order them, so if you are doubtful just order them you won’t regret it.

I will start by saying that the finished installation looks and works great so far. Almost indistinguishable from OEM lights. For how long is to be determined. For the price, if they last it will be a bargain. I docked a star for a couple of reasons: One is because the install was way more difficult than it should have been on my particular truck. For one, the reverse light coupling/connector on both lights had to be modified to fit the stock connector on the truck. In my case a 2016 F150. I had to trim the plastic (idiot proofing) ridges that keep you from plugging them in the wrong way. This involved cutting with side cutters/dikes and then filing them down further with a flat file to fit them together. (I had already fitted my stock light fixtures with LED bulbs, so already had resistors installed to eliminate the hyper-flash. I un-installed those, corrected the wiriing back to stock, and installed the new resistors so they could be used the way they were intended with the connectors provided on the new lights.) As another reviewer mentioned, you can also do this with FORSCAN, but I decided to use the resistor setup. The other reason I docked a star is because fitting the left side light into the truck was extremely difficult. Things just didn't line up like you would expect from an OEM part. I suspect that's why these cost a fraction of the price of OEM lights. After some modifications I eventually got it in there satisfactorily. I've installed several aftermarket light kits and a bunch of other parts in general for the F150 and many other vehicles over the years. Some are just made better than others. Some difficulty with fitment and technical issues are generally par for the course. Typically, gear heads and the like aren't too put off by this and have a good set of tools and skills to see it through to the end. On top of that, probably already expecting some challenges. If that's you, great. If you're looking for a quick swap, just know that you might be lucky and might not. For the price, if you're really wanting these lights like so many F150 enthusiasts do, and your up for these challenges because you'd rather not pay $1200+ for OEM lights. I'd say they are a pretty good bet so far. I am concerned about how these will resist condensation or leaking from rain, but we'll see. I opted not to try sealing them further with silicone out of concern about how it will make the lenses look around the edges. If you do this it would be obvious, at least to me, so I didn't do it.     • Great set of taillights!
These things are perfect, i added a silicone base around them just for added protection for possibilities of condensation getting through, but for the price of these and the quality you seriously can’t go wrong. They look so close to the OEM ones and are a fraction of the price, you really can’t go wrong. If you have them on that “save for later list” i highly recommend just ordering them. These come with the extra harness for the 15’-17’ years as well, and for the 18-21’ all you have to do is unhook the harness that it comes with, it’s plug and play. It sits pretty flush with not gaps around the taillights cutouts on the bed of the bed as well. I’m very happy with the product and i will update in a few months to see if they’re still working properly. Also another not is that these come with the modules for hyperflash if you’re worried about that. I used FORScan to remove that anyways but in case you were wondering they do have that as well! *UPDATE 8/26/2024 They’re still working flawlessly, I’m not entirely sure if the silicone had kept any condensation out but i have not had any issues with water getting inside or lighting. 4/5 as I have developed an intermittent fast blinking signal from both sides during separate instances. It comes- it goes- it's not water related or rattled loose by bumpy roads; if these were $179 tails I wouldn't complain much but more than twice the price quality control should be closer to Morimoto or Alpha.
