The rug was much darker than I had expected. So the dark gray almost looks like a black. The material of the rug is like a silk, which is very soft on the feet and I love that but it is also slippery. What I love about it is that I can vacuum it, a lot of shag rugs you can’t vacuum and this one vacuums very nicely. I’ve had it for a few months it doesn’t seem to be getting matted, so I would say that it’s a good quality rug and was definitely worth the money. They only downfall is it’s too thick to vacuum and fuzzy material makes a static cling for hair and small debris. Even shaking it out creates a bit of annoyance, and the only thing that works is a dust buster or meticulously picking out of lint or leaf bits. I’d suggest using in a low traffic area.
