  • A Game-Changer for Extended VR Sessions
Model: MQ4002
I was incredibly disappointed with the Meta Quest's battery life. While the device offers an immersive VR experience, the short battery duration significantly limits playtime. If I was playing the Meta Quest alone the 2-hour battery life would be fine but I am often playing with family which often requires more than 2 hours of playtime. This limitation was particularly frustrating since the fun family sessions were cut short. To eliminate this issue, I recently ordered the Kawaye Battery Head Strap for my Meta Quest 2, and I'm incredibly impressed. This accessory has provided my family with all of the battery life that we need for long game sessions. We are no longer tethered to a power outlet or constantly worrying about my headset running out of juice during a key gaming moment. The included magnetic battery packs are incredibly easy to change out and they provide ample power. The head strap itself is comfortable and well-designed, and it is much better than the strap that comes with the Meta Quest. The Kawaye strap distributes weight evenly, and is much more comfortable. The adjustable straps ensure a secure fit for various head sizes, making it suitable for everyone in my family. If you're a VR gamer that is tired of the built in battery not providing enough game time I suggest that you check out the Kawaye Battery Head Strap. ... show more

  • Works for a Quest 2 - Reduces Pressure on Face
Model: MQ4002
This kit was very easy to put together and I love the fact that it's flexible both in the back and top strap supports. Because of the flexibility to adjust fit, it makes wearing the headset much lighter on the cheeks and forehead. It's really a game changer for me because I just get tired of all the weight on the front of my face. This moves the weight to the top and back of the head, making it fit so much better. The fact that you're getting extra battery life is awesome. I opted for the two extra batteries and find that one battery extends my use for about 1 1/2 hours, which is more than I need for any one sitting. I'm very happy with this combo as it definitely makes the Quest more comfortable and extend use time in any one sitting. It's a great accessory to have! ... show more

  • Great battery system, strap itself may not be for everyone
Model: MQ4002
This is my first VR strap with the forehead support design. I have had 2 other straps before this one that tighten up and squeeze the headset toward your face with a front to back top strap. This one is different. It supports the weight of the headset primarily on your forehead. You can still crank it down if you want, but it does not need to be as tight as the other design. This forehead support design also allows you to flip up the headset like a welding helmet. It won't stay up, the hinge is too loose (has little to no friction), but you can flip it up to peek. Some people love this design and find it very comfortable. The jury is still out for me. I see how it might be more comfortable for some, but the weight on my forehead is similarly uncomfortable as on the front of my face. Time will tell, but I see this as likely being a personal preference thing where you will have to try it to find out. The strap comes with connectors for both Quest 2 and Quest 3 headsets. I used the strap on a Quest 3. Mounting it requires you to install the correct connectors. This is done using 4 tiny Phillips head screws that are included. A screwdriver is included as well. The strap then snaps to the headset. When installed the whole assembly is sort of cumbersome. The joints are loose and floppy by design and it folds up into itself. To put it in you fold it open and set it on your head, then tighten the rear knob as well as the knob to adjust the top support. That top support is a bit awkward and maybe too much complexity where a simpler velcro strap would do the job. Any way, when you get it on, as mentioned above, most of the weight rests against your forehead. If I could change something, it would be for the primary pivot to have some more friction so it doesn't fold up/flop around. The strap materials are okay, but some parts feel better than others - some pretty good, others not so much. The best part of the strap is the battery system. The batteries (mine came with 2) are held on with magnets. I am impressed and pleased with how well this works. Because if the magnets, you can remove and replace the batteries without taking the headset off. If you are really hardcore and don't want to stop playing you could pull one battery off and replace it with another and keep on playing. The batteries also magnetically snap into the charger. This works well too. As far as actual charging goes, the Quest 3's charging logic is a mystery to me. The strap charges the headset while you are using it, but it does not seem to charge when the headset is not being used - except sometimes it does. I suspect this is a Quest thing and not the battery/strap, but I'm not entirely sure. Since the main reason you want a battery on your strap is to charge while you use it, whether it charges when you are not wearing it, might not matter, but the behavior is inconsistent (again likely to be a Quest thing and not the battery). The batteries have a capacity/charge meter that is digital and displays the percent charge remaining. Everything is USB-C except for one end of the cord they give you for the charging base. One end of it is USB-A for a charger / power supply that is not included. ... show more

  • more comfortable with external charging support
Model: MQ4002
I bought this strap because the original one caused discomfort around my eyes after just a couple of hours. Plus, the battery life was only about 2 hours. This new strap feels well-made and is similar in build quality to the Quest 2 elite strap I’ve used for years, which is starting to show cracks. While I don't expect this new strap to last forever, it’s performing well so far. The dual batteries are excellent, lasting longer than my gaming sessions, with plenty of charge left after 4 hours of play. The design helps distribute the weight better and alleviates the pain around my eyes. If you want a more comfortable VR experience with the Quest 3, I’d definitely recommend this strap. ... show more
