Manufactured to perform in both freshwater and saltwater environments the KastKing Cutthroat 7” stainless-steel pliers will be a great addition to your fishing gear! Built with 420 stainless-steel these pliers are not only corrosion resistant, but they are also very durable. For extra protection we have also coated these pliers with a tough coating which creates a hard outer armor to protect against damage and corrosion. Tungsten carbide side cutters can easily cut mono, fluorocarbon, and braided lines. These anvil style cutter blades resist rust, and the side cutters allow you to cut close to knots. Designers have also incorporated a raised surface behind the blade to eliminate the problem of your line dropping below the cutting zone. Fine serrated jaws allow you to find the ideal grip for multiple wire diameters. Grooved slots near the back of the jaws are ideal for crimping sleeves for a leader or attaching split shot weights to fishing line. Available in both a straight nose and a split ring nose design. You will find the thin profile of the handle is both comfortable and easy to grip. The molded rubber handle and spring-loaded jaws make it easy to operate these pliers with just one hand and no more fumbling around looking for your pliers when you have a fish in the boat. My unbias and honest review of the KastKing Cutthroat 7" Split Ring Nose Fishing Pliers with actual weeks of abuse in fresh and salt water. Short story: Great pliers at an amazing price! Highly recommended for any fishermen or fisherwoman! Makes split rings quick and simple. Cut, crimp, and basically all you need to deal with any fishing accessory! 5 STARS! Long Story: As a beginner fisherman, I quickly found the need for quality pliers to remove hooks and to cut line. As I looked for the cheapest functional fishing pliers, I stumble upon the KastKing Cutthroat 7" Split Ring Nose Fishing Pliers. After reading all of the raving reviews, I knew I had to try these out. When the package arrived, I had acciddentally ordered two which was quickly and easily fixed with a fast refund. Before returning the extra plier, I was able to compare product quality and found both builds to be very consistent and solid. My only remark would be the quality of the box. It was crumpled in all corners, but the plastic frame was functional and held the plier securely. A nice little case would have been nice, but it is understandable for this amazing price. on the first day of use, I caught my personal best bass and under all of the excitement, I quickly remove the hook and try to put away the pliers with the bass flopping around still. I grip the pliers and snip a sliver of my fingerpad... ouch! Hey, now I know it definitely can snip! These pliers do not have an guard for your finger, so do be careful! Ever since then, I have never had any issues after weeks of fishing fresh and salt water. I love the bright orange to quickly spot the pliers when they are not on me. Note: I tried to work split rings without the pliers and it was obvious that these pliers are extremely useful especially if you use a lot of hard lures. Over the weeks, I have made only two adjustment. While mounted on the hip, the pliers tend to flip upsidedown and fall out. So, I forced an indent between the grips on the holster for a stronger resistance of plier removal. Secondly, I have replaced the carabiner with a hair tie since the carabiner is of the lowest quality and poor design. Areas for improvement would be the plastic swivel on the holster since it flips to easy, add a physical feature to prevent the pliers from accidentally falling out, and to get a better quality carbiner. Of all these minor comments, these pliers still stand out as one of the most effective pliers at one of the most affordable prices! I highly recommend KastKing's Cutthroat 7" Split Ring Nose Fishing Pliers at 5 out of 5 stars! P.S. For those that may not know, KastKing is a quality brand that I trust, and specializes in fishing and fishing accessories. ... show more

Pliers feel great in hand, nice grippy handle with finger grooves, nice OD green color, smooth spring action, aggressive teeth, split ring end, hook tying hole, line cutter is excellent, no lock but it has a very well fitted glass nylon sheath that's very secure inside but it's still an easy one hand removal, sheath has a .. decent belt loop - I'm going to put this on a homemade drop leg for easier access (I'll update when I do) and a phone type lanyard (that I already extended with paracord for more reach) ... show more

Kastking knocked it out of the park again with these pliers. They feel great in the hand! The ergonomics of the grips feel great even in my smaller-than-average hands. Generally, slip resistance isn't something I am worried about, but the fact that they feel so grippy is very nice; it takes any sort of worry out of dropping them. Even more so, having the tether makes them nearly impossible to lose! The tether is not too long or too short. I like to fish from the bank but occasionally take my boat out. It is nice to not have to worry about dropping them, as I love to put things in my lap, forget I did so, and then stand up. The functions of the tool are also top tier. The hook remover was very useful, especially for the tiny size 12 hooks I use for little pond trout. I hate to admit that sometimes they get swallowed, but I was able to recover both of the swallowed hooks on my first trip with these. Also, the crimper worked well for the weights I like to use. If you're looking for a great set of heavy-duty, reliable hook removing pliers, from a reliable company that delivers quality, these pliers from Kastking are them! ... show more

Pliers are strong and easy to use. They're comfortable in the hand and not too big to carry with you. The sheath is ok. I played with it for a while to see if there was a way to lock it in place but couldn't figure it out. I'm used to handgun holsters that rotate, but a plier sheath rotating (and not locking) seems strange. Hopefully I'm just dumb, but if the sheath is meant to spin around and not stay in one spot then I see that as a defect. I've had my pliers fall out of the sheath a few times because it spins around and faces upside down & drops. I don't lose them because of the cord, but if I'm moving around enough to have the sheath spin and drop the pliers, then I probably don't have a lot of time to be grabbing my pliers to readjust the sheath. Again, the pliers are great, the sheath just bugs me. I just set them on the ground next to me while I'm fishing because I'd rather have to grab them off the ground than scramble to pull up pliers that are hanging from the sheath. ... show more

This is a great, rugged plier that has a split ring tool (you can get with or without) and a nice line cutter. Really makes a difference in terms of not getting stuck when trying to get ahold of fish to take out hooks. I grab hook with these first and then get ahold of fish to work out the hooks. Line cutter is very good and well-located. The only thing I didn't like is that the holster has a belt clip that is placed in a spot where gravity wants to turn the pliers upside down and since it is on a swivel, that's what happens. I solved this problem with a zip tie around the swivel so the holster doesn't rotate anymore. The cord is also really nice so if you drop it by accident you don't have any risk of losing the pliers and also when you are holding the fish after getting out the hooks you can just drop the pliers and not worry about getting them in the holster. Not super cheap, but a really solid product and well worth the cost in my opinion. ... show more
