  • Works as advertised.
Style: V40
I put this on the dash of my Chevy Silverado and it works perfectly. Some people complained that it didn't work properly. If I mounted it near a stereo speaker then no, it didn't work and would just spin. I put it right in the middle of my dash on top and have had zero issues. It looks really good and appears well made. Highly recommend if you are wanting a reliable compass for your vehicle. ... show more

  • Did not work
Style: V40
This compass absolutely did not work for me. It did not work in the car, it did not work in the house, it did not work on the lawn, it did not work in a box, it did not work with a fox. I do not like it Sam I Am. The KanPas “compass” that I received was, in point of fact, NOT a compass at all. Why? Because it proclaimed that I was *always* facing the same direction, no matter which direction I was actually facing. (The KanPas compass devoutly asserted that all directions would ever and always be SSE. Praise be to SSE. All glory to the eternal SSE. Thanks be to the almighty SSE. Amen.) A compass has *one* very simple job to do, which is to detect and respond to the Earth’s natural magnetic fields and clearly display that reaction thereby providing the user with a consistent sense of direction. If it performs this simple job, we can rightly call it a “compass.” Important Note: It is okay if the sense of direction provided by a compass is based on magnetic north rather than “true” north, so long as the compass consistently detects magnetic north. The floaty ball object I received did not do this. Executive Summary: The KanPas “compass” I received (by proclaiming ALL directions ever and always to be SSE) was not only an abject failure as a compass, it was, in actual fact, NOT a compass at all. Because of its inability to perform the one simple job of a compass (to detect and respond to the Earth’s natural magnetic fields and clearly display this reaction, thereby providing the user with a consistent sense of direction) the KanPas object I was sent, although labeled a “compass” by the company, was not, in fact, a compass. It was a floaty ball thing that *looked like* compass. Thank you for reading. ... show more

  • The wife is happy
Style: V39
The wife just wanted something to tell her what direction she was heading with just a glance. The fits the bill perfectly. I checked the compass out of the car and it was accurate. Inside the car is a different story, you have to find a place to put it that gives an accurate reading. I can see why some people said they sent the unit back because it wasn't accurate; it's the location that allows it to be accurate. ... show more

  • JUNK (melted in mild heat)
Style: V39
I have figured out yet how this thing decides when to work and when not to. Sometimes it points west when im clearly going other directions like its almost stuck, yet it still bobs and turns slightly so it doesnt actually seem stuck. Other times it points accurately. Overall not very reliable UPDATE: Summer in Indiana has melted some internal part of the compass. All the fluid inside of it leaked out all over the dashboard and created a slippery smelly mess. Definitely do not buy this junk. ... show more

  • Doesn't work inside my Honda Fit
Style: V39
At first look the compass seems to be well designed and durable. Unfortunately, it reads W when placed anywhere on the dashboard of my 2019 Honda Fit facing N. I'm guessing the electronic gadgetry of the car produces a magnetic field stronger than the one Earth cranks out.

  • Finally! A WELL MADE COMPASS!
Style: V40
This is not a toy or a cheap plastic, tiny compass, but a very nice sturdy and accurate compass. I wish I had found it first instead of purchasing three or four and sending them back because they were inaccurate or so cheap or so small that they were not functional. Don’t waste your time with anything else. ... show more

  • Car compass
Style: V39
Could not get compass to properly align from within the car. Works fine outside the car, but need some sort of shielding so the car’s metal doesn’t defeat its operation.
