  • perfect fit
Got this for my 2008 Toyota RAV4 Limited 6cyl. The old case and split, but key was in good shape. Easy to put parts into and everything fit perfect. Snapped to together. The screw must be for different model.

  • Doesn’t fit
I have a 2013 Scion TC and it did not fit my key. Once I assembled everything, the fob would not shut/ close properly leaving a gap. I thought about giving it a try anyways but the key would just fall apart. I wanted it to work so bad because it’s an easy fix and affordable, but unfortunately it just didn’t work. Had to return. ... show more

  • Easy Assembly
The parts from an OEM Scion remote fit perfectly. The old key snaps into the bracket very easily, just make sure you get it in snugly. Get it firmly into the fob and make sure the screw is tight to the point the key is firmly flat on the base. Everything else is pretty much obvious...EXCEPT you need to remove the security chip - which is NOT THE MODULE that handles the remote entry buttons. There is a separate chip in the fob that you need to carefully remove and place into the slot in this fob. Otherwise, it's an easy option if your cheap plastic Toyota (Scion) FOB breaks. ... show more

  • Does not quite seat right
As others reviews have noted, the case does not close completely on the key blade end. The result is that it pops open and falls apart when you turn the ignition. I almost returned it but decided to use crazy glue to seat the blade's base plastic to the one side of the case - so that I can still pop it open to replace the battery. It's been a couple weeks of light use and it's holding so far. I wish they would take all our combined feedback and design something a little sturdier that doesn't require modifications. ... show more

  • must transfer transponder chip, kind of difficult
Works great so far but car wouldn't start, so found out I had to remove the small transponder chip out of the old case into the slot provided in the new key case. I had to use pliers to remove the cut key out of my old fob also, which ruined the old one, but I wasn't going to use it anyway. Watch youtube videos on how to remove transponder. As far as case coming apart I snapped it together and then squeezed it together near the metal key (with pliers) as this is where it wouldn't quite snap together. Cover fob with a cloth and don't over squeeze as to not scratch the fob. I am happy with it so far UPDATE: Keeps coming apart, I'm going to put a new battery in it and super glue it ... show more

  • Kinda works until it doesn't
Seems like the right idea. The key blade fits into the holder, a small screw tightens it into one side of the case. You use the new buttons, rubber pad, and your circuit board. It all fits together nicely, and you snap on the back of the case. The problem is, when you twist the key in the ignition, the case comes apart. Even with the key blade screwed in tight, you can move the blade up and down, which snaps the case open, and the thing falls apart. I will return this product, and go with the complete uncut new key. ... show more

  • Working Great So Far
This replacement key head has worked perfectly so far for my 2008 Toyota Rav4. My only concern is that the bottom edge near the key blade (on the side where the screw is) doesn't snap together as completely as the other side. However, it is secure for now, and everything is working as it should.
