  • Easy-to-use, comfortable and lightweight
Size: XXL/3XL
I used many safety harness and this is by far the most user friendly I've owned. I love the strain relief feature. Would definitely recommend purchasing this safety harness after you put it on you don't even realize your wearing it. The price is right, to think I almost purchased another brand at twice the money because I thought this might be to junkey. It's definitely not junkey. If you're thinking of getting a good quality comfortable safety harness this is the one. This harness has a lot of great features. It's lightweight, has a strain relief system, easy to put on, comfortable and the price is right. I'm 6 foot 215 lbs so I purchased the 2X to 3X size. I could still make it larger and it fits over my one piece insulated hunting suit. ... show more

  • Way better than a generic alternative.
Size: M/L/XL
I have used this product in a tree stand, but that doesn't really tell you much about how it would perform in a fall. To test it, I had myself hung from one of the blocks I use to hang deer. During the same session, I tried a generic version that came with one of my ladder stands. I've included two photos of me in the Kalkal, before and after I supported myself with my feet in the relief strap. The Kalkal harness was much superior to the generic. After I got my feet in the relief strap, the padded shoulder straps were a significant advantage. The generic's uncushioned shoulder straps dug into my trapezius muscles, causing acute pain. The Kalkal did not cause pain, though the position was never comfortable. Because I am thin, I needed to tighten the belt on the harnesses to my 31" waist. The forward leg strap attachments on the generic's belt pulled in almost to the buckle. While there two straps going under me, one under each leg, they attached so close together at my belly, they overlapped in a single, centered, painful band. Considering the pain induced while my full weight was slowly hoisted off the floor, I can't imagine how any man would cope with the impact of a fall. For me, the positioning of the leg straps on the Kalkal, combined with the padding there, made all the difference. The strap attachments are well positioned and caused no problems. The leg straps on the generic harness I used are genuinely dangerous. Maybe just for me, because of my waist size. The buckles and adjustments are a big improvement over the generic. The elastic strap is helpful in the tree. It lets you know you have almost reached the length limit but allows a little more movement. I need to loosen the the leg straps when walking. Otherwise the pads bind between my legs. This is not a problem but the user needs to remember to tighten the straps once he gets to the tree. The only criticism I have is with the whistle. As an emergency device, it cannot be blown while hanging in the harness due to its location. It also is not very loud. I'm going to make sure my phone is in my pocket if I ever need to call for help. ... show more

  • Sturdy and Well-Made
Size: M/L/XL
The Kalkal Tree Stand Harness is a well-made tree harness that is made with high-quality webbing and carabiners. My boyfriend is 6ft and 220lb, and he was able to comfortably wear this in a tree-stand all day. The only downside is the rated weight limit, which I would attribute to the use of plastic buckles on the straps. If these were switched out for metal replacements, the rating would be significantly higher. ... show more

  • Safety first
Size: M/L/XL
Ordered this for my husband. He hunts quite often and I wanted him to be safe. He really likes that it is adjustable. It is well made. Safety is the most important thing. And this eases my mind a bit

  • Sturdy, Well-Built, and Comfortable
Size: M/L/XL
I picked this up because I keep preaching about safety to my son and hope he practices some of it while he's out in the woods in his deer stand. When it arrived I was surprised at how sturdy it was and how much quality there was in the materials. I have priced other harnesses and they ranged from cheap junk to the ridiculously priced and capable of supporting a mid-size SUV if it should even slip and fall from a tree. The price point had me thinking this would fall towards the cheap junk end of the spectrum, but was I ever wrong! The harness is lightweight, but put together like a brick outhouse. It's quite solid and well padded. The nylon seems to be of good quality with no sharp edges. The padding is ample throughout the areas that need it and the buckles seem to be of similar quality. It's not overbuilt adding unnecessary weight, but it definitely does not feel cheaply made. ... show more

  • Excellent Harness, Excellent Value
Size: M/L/XL
I am incredibly happy with this harness. I’ve needed one for awhile and suffered the cheap ones that come with a stand because I couldn’t stomach the retail store cost of one. This harness packs a lot of features into a comfortable price point. Pros: Great fit and definitely followed the sizing chart. Great tough nylon stitching that you can trust to save your life. Comfortable fit that you can wear for hours. I forgot it was even there during a nearly six hour sit. Heavy duty suspension strap for the tree with carabiner loop. So much better than without the loop like others. Built in emergency whistle for when you’re dangling and need help. It’s small and not a screamer but better than nothing. Super heavy duty carabiner. Easily stored tension relief strap that hangs on your waist strap but doesn’t get in the way. Very easy to put on after the initial set up. Shock cord suspension strap to lessen the “jerk” should you fall. Incredibly clear instruction manual which was a huge help. Heavy weight canvas type material on the exterior of the pads that should take a lot of abrasion wear. Orange highlights for visibility to other hunters. It even came well packaged with professional presentation. Cons: The crotch pads are a little stiff and noticeable when you walk. I tried to list everything but am sure to have missed some positive features. Bottom line though is that this is a great affordable harness. ... show more
