Cheap and Effective I recently bought a 4K TV because my 9-year-old 1080p set had started displaying “mouse tracks” across the screen—some driver or connection had clearly become intermittent. The missing pixels would come and go, but it was obvious that my old 65" flatscreen was on its last legs. Interesting side note: the old TV cost me $1,020 back in 2016, while the new 65" 4K model cost just $349! I figured I’d better buy one now in case tariffs push prices higher—even though this was a Korean brand, it was actually assembled in Mexico. One catch: the new TV had no audio outputs! And I wanted to keep using my existing high-end soundbar and subwoofer setup. First, I tried an HDMI eARC audio extractor—but it didn’t work. Then I bought THIS Bluetooth-based adapter. Success right out of the box. Simple to pair with the new TV. It includes 3.5mm-to-RCA outputs, but I only needed the optical SPDIF output, which matched how I had connected my soundbar to the old TV. Now I’m enjoying excellent sound with my “cheap” 4K TV—whose built-in speakers are, predictably, as underwhelming as most low-cost sets—thanks to this little gadget. Would recommend. Would buy again.

It works rifht out of the box, and comes with a fiber optic cable, an rca cable, a 3.5mm headphone jack cable, and a USB power cable (no power block included). I attached the USB to the back of my audio receiver used for firmware updates, and that powers it just fine. Great quality audio in fiber optic, and no delay. Also great it has its own volume control. The manual was confusing regarding setup, so just plug it in to power, connect your audio cable, then connect to the bluetooth. I got my laptop running on it pretty quick, but had to make some adjustments in my audio receiver menu to make the input recognize it.

The KAIY Bluetooth 5.3 Receiver is a solid addition to my home audio setup. It was super easy to get up and running—just plug it into your stereo system, pair your phone or device via Bluetooth, and you’re good to go. I appreciated the inclusion of multiple output options like RCA, AUX, USB, and optical, which makes it compatible with pretty much any system. The sound quality is excellent—very clear with no noticeable lag, even when streaming high-quality music. The low latency really makes a difference when watching videos or playing games, and I didn’t experience any dropouts during use. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the range isn’t quite as strong as I hoped. If I move too far away or have a couple of walls in between, the connection can get a little unstable. Also, while it works well with USB, I wish the controls or indicators were a bit more intuitive—some of the LED lights can be vague at first. Still, for the price and performance, it’s a great little device that gets the job done well. If you’re looking to modernize a traditional stereo or speaker system with Bluetooth streaming, this receiver is a great choice

We bought this Bluetooth 5.3 receiver to use with our TV, and it works perfectly. The low latency really makes a difference—no audio lag when watching shows or movies. This little gadget works well. It does everything it says it does and locks into Bluetooth without a problem. The controls are a little lacking, built on the cheesy side, and the sound quality is fair but not great at all, but it does work with all its features. You can't expect much for what this thing costs.

If you are looking for a low budget bluetooth receiver for you home stereo than this can do the job. The frustrating issue with budget bluetooth receivers is that they tend to lose signal and cutout way too easily. Because of this I did upgrade to another, more expensive model that maintains signal.
